My heart is an over-whelming, hyperactive part of my body that is always overworked pumping gallons and gallons of blood through it. Yet despite it being one of the most crucial elements that keeps me going, (read alive) I hardly invest enough time or effort to protect it.

Put Her First, #ProtectHerHeart With SaffolaLife

And when I say I it actually means we all need to #ProtectHerHeart, and by protection I mean not only from the emotional pressures and the heartbreaks but also with ensuring heart health. Most of us will surely be gasping at this thought and wondering if I've lost it, but no I haven't. Recent studies by SaffolaLife reveals that 3 in every 5 Indian women are at a high risk of heart-diseases, those as young as 35 years of age too. Heart diseases are no longer attributed to old age but to the new-age lifestyle factors such as unhealthy eating habits, lifestyle vices, day-to-day stress and physical inactivity. However, it is extremely easy to make a few changes in your daily routines to go from unhealthy to healthy and achieve great fitness levels both physically and mentally.

In order to elevate my heart health, I'm first going to change what’s on my plate. Simple inclusions like whole-grain products, fibre-rich vegetables and fruits and omissions like excess salt and sugar will ensure long-term benefits for my heart and overall health. The very next step that will add immensely to my fitness is to ensure sufficient, good-quality sleep every night to help regularise my heart rate and keep the blood pressure under control.

One of the largest demon that haunts us ladies is physical inactivity. I know everyone will go up in arms and list out a zillion things we do each day not only at home but also at work that amounts to loads of activity. However, when a light is shed on the activities that actually contribute to fitness or health we will be the first to agree that we are left far behind in that department due to varied reasons like 'dearth of time', 'lack of energy', 'no motivation' etc etc.

But now is the time to "Put Myself First" and engage with my heart. With a list of things that I can do to up my fitness levels, I'm going to choose to engage my heart twice, with an activity and with my better half. For our love for each other and that for cycling, we pledge to cycle together daily for 15 minutes, leading up to 30 minutes over the course of a few weeks. As a couple, we are joining the #ProtectHerHeart initiative by Saffolalife and pledging our support to better heart health. What are you waiting for, encourage us as we take our first steps towards #ProtectingEachOthersHearts by joining the initiative yourself.

Until next time,

Whenever I walk into a room I either feel instantly great or horrible. It's about psychology of colors. Colors have the power to calm, energize and soothe. Colors also evoke feelings of romance, richness, excitement and confidence. After a hectic day I need a private sanctuary that takes away my worries away and helps me unwind. That untouched place is my HOME.

My home is about two people - My Partner and Me. It needs to reflect both our interests, styles and tastes. We love to invest time and energy in optimising the available space to keep it comfortable yet stylish. However the litmus test is to find a shade that reflects both of us, without clashing our individuality from the hordes of gorgeous hues available on #PaintFinder.
Decor Tips With #PaintFinder At Bed Bath And More

With such an amazing platform from Bed Bath & More, the first thing I browsed through were the bedroom concepts and here is a colour palette that helped us miss a heartbeat as a couple and then the overload of ideas to redecorate our house just started flowing.

Decor Tips With #PaintFinder At Bed Bath And More

Wall Paint
Use a great color that makes the space more brighter and larger.  If you opt for a dark color, restrict it to one wall. Try to furnish in contrasting colors or darker colors of the same family.

Neutral Elements
Ditch the extremes, strike a balance between masculine and feminine elements. Leave out the leather accessories, sports memorabilia out, pinks and soft toys. If you want a particular item, include it in a way it doesn't define the room.

Sleek Furniture
Use modular, light colored furniture in darker rooms and vice versa to keep the room airy and spacious. Include furniture that has great visual appeal along with great utility to get the best out of each piece.

Brighten with Mirrors
Strategically place mirrors will reflect light in the room, making it more brighter and larger. Opt for numerous small sized mirrors instead of a large bulky mirror which shall attract all the attention in the room.

Lighting
Lights define both the ambiance of the bedroom and also sets the mood. Multiple options are - soft string lights for a calm and serene atmosphere - artistic lamps and night stands for mystic - candles for a soothing romantic aura.

Breathtaking Artwork
Add a piece of art that both of you love, understand and relate to. Hunt for that one piece which is the life of your room and simply take your breath away.

Furnishings
Leave the cottons and jute for the guest room, spread out the net and lace. Not only will they keep the romance alive but also encourage a flirty feeling. Colorful bed linen will bring in the much needed color and vibrancy to the bedroom.

Decor Tips With #PaintFinder At Bed Bath And More

I am participating in the #PaintFinder activity in association with Bed Bath & More Bed to find my colour with #PaintFinder. What colour is your bedroom and what is your favourite part of it?

Until next time,

Get The Best Financial Advice From Max Life

Growing up in a house full of achievers has its own share of disadvantages amongst all the advantages. Years of education, fancy degrees, great career starts, impressive salaries, huge bonuses, jet-setting holidays and much more all form parts of the cubic puzzle of their lives. Just their mere presence indicates how on top of their professional games they are.

As a young adult, the ambition, the strive and the success seemed so intimidating that I had begun to worry. Every school project, every activity became a non-stop platform to excel. Every time I wanted to over-achieve from the previous time, making a precedent for myself I did outdo myself time and again.

And then the most important junction in my career arrived... to choose the stream to move ahead with my professional education. All the businessmen and doctors that surrounded me, with their numerous accomplishments and larger-than-life personas affected me immensely, but in an extremely negative way. My heart and my head desired different streams and I fell prey to measuring Success with ambiguous terms like title, ambition and back balance. I followed my siblings into the medical field only to realise that my mind had taken the wrong decision and my heart just wasn't in it.

Never the one to accept defeat, I went on and on pushing myself endlessly. Don't judge, I did great, I was in the top 5% in class, but I didn't enjoy it. I wanted out, I wanted Arts.

It wasn't long before my maternal uncle, a renowned neurosurgeon cut opened my brain and tinkered around leaving me dumbfound and at a loss for words. With the extreme stress, I was under, the long crazy study hours and the continued irritation I finally broke down and confessed to my predicament. I don't remember anything else that followed, but just the one piece of advice that changed my life forever. My mama, in the most gentlest action, put his arm around me and said,

"Whenever you think you're in the work direction,

don't panic. You're allowed an U-turn, start over."

Not only did I move to explore my love for the arts but since that day, I've always given myself another direction whenever I needed one. With this little, yet important memory I am participating in the #SachchiAdvice campaign by Max Life. So if you have given or received a life-changing advice, then leave me those motivating thoughts in the comments below.

Until next time,

Many Indians identified with when Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone dated but then when they parted ways hell broke loose. One of the biggest concerns was that audiences may never see this gorgeous, now on-screen couple on celluloid again. Blame this on the yesteryears stars who set the trend. However that doesn’t hold true for these stunning ex-lovers turned friends who are so comfortable with each other that it spells magic in all their outings, whether film or otherwise.

Style Tips From Deepika Padukone And Ranbir Kapoor From The Movie Tamasha

We have been waiting with bated breath for the release of their new film together Tamasha. And while the film is yet a few weeks away from hitting the silver screen we were fortunate enough to be at the Trailer Launch and just couldn’t get enough of all the Tamasha happening. Silly questions by jurnos to fun vibes between the lead pair to the inspiration disclosure by the ever-so intense Imitaz Ali, it was a fun afternoon with so much awesomeness around.

We patiently sat through the trailer launch and the first 5 things that excited us about the Ranbir Kapoor - Deepika Padukone starrer are:

The Couple
Of course we are talking about the on-screen couple who when parted ways broke more than a million hearts. However the chemistry, the camaraderie and the love is there for everyone to see. If you really miss it, you are not only blind but also inhuman. Together they are a riot and the box-office is surely going to fall in love with them, during their first outing after the breakup.

The Chemistry
Take any Ranbir-Deepika film and you know what I’m talking about. Very few words can describe love and magic that these two love birds create for the audiences. It is difficult not to feel what they are portraying on screen. Every frame on the trailer shows the talented duo create an mesmerising chemistry that needs to be seen to be believed.

The Director
With a line up of films that emotionally connect with the audiences from Socha Na Tha to Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal to Rockstar and Highway; Imtiaz Ali has done what very few directors can do. Transform the stars into actors who geninuinely take the audiences on the roller-coater ride. So sit back to drink the same wine from a new bottle that adds a definite shape to the drink.

The Music
A R Rahman and Imtiaz Ali the combo behind Rockstar and Highway, just a blip at the launch and we are waiting. Need I say more?

The Goddess
With so much riding on her, Deepika has in the last few years not disappointed her fans at all. With the beauty, grace and pure talent she has taken top spot and ruled the cinema world with her classic sophistication. Every time she is in the frame, it magically lights up and all eyes are transfixed on her. Her scenes in the trailer takes one’s breath away, especially the last scene, though very similar to her earlier outing with Ranbir it is spectacular.

Tamasha in a way is trying to decode the relationship and who better than these ex-lovebirds to pay the part that makes it seem like reality. Until the film release on November 27th, serenade yourself with A R Rahman's music and catch the trailer here.
