In the most rampant digital age, creating memories through a thousand pictures a day is an easy task, however, it is much easier to forget about them in the uncountable digital albums we have. I’ve always loved to flick through family albums that transports me back in time.

I still remember the summer holidays at my grandpa’s that were no short of crazy adventures and during one such day out, grandpa went click-click with a Polaroid camera and amazed us with the instant pictures. Since then I’ve always associated a Polaroid camera with vintage luxury. Over the years, many manufacturers have launched and discontinued their instant camera and films. But for me, the memories with an instant camera is very precious and it has been an incredibly difficult addiction to give up.

Instant photography still makes me feel great and when I learnt about Fujifilm launching their Instax line I couldn’t contain myself. As the brand launched the Instax Mini 8, I decided to bite the bullet and get myself one of the lovely candy coloured pieces. However being a blogger has its perks, Fujifilm India invited me to the launch event in Mumbai and gave me my very own Instax Mini 8 Joy Box.

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Joy Box came with the camera (of course) along with a carry bag, film rolls, a permanent marker to make notes on the photos and the most important accessory, a selfie lens and mirror to check my reflection before clicking the best selfies ever with an instant camera. Since then the Mini 8 has become my style statement for its ease of use, quality and the fun it brings to my outings.

The company recently launched its latest upgrade to the Mini 8, the Instax Mini 9. The brand has built on the success of its most popular product and upgraded the Instax Mini 8, to the Mini 9 with a few minor changes. The most important feature that the Mini 9 is being differentiated by is the High Key picture mode that will allow brighter and sharper images. The add-on accessories include a selfie mirror and a clip-on close-up lens that will allow for shooting at a close range. Similar to the Mini 8, the Mini 9 uses the Instax Mini film cartridges that produce credit-card-sized prints within moments of capture. Both the colour and monochrome variants of the film packs will be compatible with the new Mini 9.

The brand once again sent me their brand new offering, and it’s the perfect conversation starter that will need no introduction. In terms of pricing, the Mini 9 will be priced at INR 5,999 when it starts retailing. The price is more or less similar to the price of the Mini 8 which was priced at INR 6,490 when it was launched in India. The camera joins Fujifilm’s existing range of instant cameras which include the Mini 25, Mini 70, Mini 90 and Wide 300. To learn more about the Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 or any other of their amazing products visit the official Fujifilm website, here.

Here is an image taken within moments of each other with the Mini 8 and Mini 9.

In the times of several editing tools we use for that perfect picture, I absolutely love the natural pictures that may show my imperfections. Today is the day I’m going to click some pictures with my little one, get #instaxicated and put the pictures on the fairy lights in her bedroom. I may share that perfect picture with you soon.

Until next time,
- Heena

I decided to bring in my 2017 clutter-free and that called for replacing stacks of cardboard boxes full of photos, video cassettes and documents that once crowded my study by a more space efficient and convenient substitute. External hard drives have today turned into this space efficient substitute, that is not only faster or technologically better, but also easily portable and absolutely value for money.

I’ve used the Western Digital My Passport Ultra at work and swear by the sleek and powerful device for its innovation and reliability. Thus when I was looking for a home-solution for all the photos, videos, music I’ve saved, I opted for the Western Digital My Passport. My Passport is the redesigned version of the highly popular My Passport Ultra range and priced slightly higher.

WD My Passport First Impressions
WD has launched My Passport in India in four of the six colours available internationally. The brand has stuck with the most popular colours white, black, red and blue for their India debut. The new look, designed by FuseProject, a design firm founded by the legendary Yves Behar, has an amazing visual appeal. The latest version of My Passport Portable Hard Drive comes with a WD Backup, WD Security and WD Drive Utilities software, an installation guide and USB 3.0 cable. The drive is segmented into two halves, with the upper half plain and the lower half featuring a diagonal scalloped pattern; a port and LED on one side with tiny rubber feet at the base. Though the design does nothing for the overall functionality, it does set it apart from all the competition.

WD My Passport Performance
WD has made available the My Passport in 1-4TB variants, all of them pre-formatted for Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7 operating systems. Since I use a Mac, I reformatted the drive easily. The sequential read/write speeds clocked in at 114.3/114.1MB respectively, making it relatively good at the write speeds, especially for large files.

The entire focus of this product is on the software with all three niche aspects of WD Backup, WD Security and WD Drive Utilities thrown in. WD Backup is the basic folder synchronisation tool offered, which lets users select folders on the PC or to/from a Dropbox/Baidu account to back up automatically as per the pre-defined schedule. WD Security lets users set up the drive’s 256-bit hardware encryption feature to a password, to recognise and synchronise with the registered machine, preventing unauthorised access. Finally, WD Drive Utilities lets users do a quick SMART status check and run diagnostic tests to identify errors if any and prevent drive failures that otherwise would take several hours.

WD My Passport Conclusions
WD has been known for its range of products, and My Passport offers oodles of storage, good performance, password protection and a two-year warranty. With a price tag of between 7 and 17k, it’s a product to reckon with. Though the drive is a good choice for the portable storage needs, the only glitch is that the password encryption doesn’t prevent the drive from being reformatted. Yes, users might lose the drive but they can be rest assured that the content will not fall into the wrong hands.

If you are looking for a portable hard drive, my suggestion would be to compare your selected product with WD My Passport before you seal the deal.

Cool Your Car With Kulcar Version 2, A Solar Powered Car Cooler Product Review

With the temperatures rising in Mumbai, a product has come as a wonderful surprise and a true gift to counter the blistering heat. So what is this product I’m talking about? It’s Kulcar Version 2, a Solar Powered Car Cooler. You may wonder what this product is all about... Is it another air conditioning unit or a device that cools the car when needed causing battery drainage and / or huge expenses? No it isn’t.

Kulcar Version 2 is a car cooler that is powered by the sun via a solar panel fitted on your car window frame to control the temperature inside your car.  Twin turbo fans connected to the solar panel help in controlling the temperature inside the car by replacing the same with fresh air throughout with the help of the car cooler.

In Mumbai, cars parked outside in the sun turn into heat machines. One cannot expect the car to remain cool or even bearable after a few hours in the sun. The temperature within the car rises a great deal and at a point the inside of the car is hotter, more humid and completely unbearable. In such cases all you want is a more manageable environment to travel. That exactly what Kulcar Version 2, Car Cooler does. Sounds really cool isn’t it? It sure is that cool.

We at iCynosure did test this and are amazed at the results. When we received the product we took time to unbox it and understand the different parts of the product. The product has one main component which is the solar panel attached to the turbo fans. Other parts include a plastic strip cover that you can use in case there are chances of rainfall in your city so as to make sure the rain water doesn’t enter your car. One other important part is the solar stopper that must be used when you don’t wish to use the product to obstruct the solar panel. It is used to cover part of the panel ensuring that the solar generator stops for the time.

Once we understood how Kulcar Version 2 works we were quite eager to try it and we installed it on our car immediately. The installation is very simple, you really don’t need to do much except measure up the length of the car window frame and cut the rubber panel accordingly to ensure the product fits well on the window.

We let our car as is for a few hours, parked in our building open park with temperatures fluctuating between 35-38 degrees celsius and humidity almost 55%. When we couldn’t contain our excitement any longer we went straight up to see how the product had made a difference to the environment within the car and whether or not it made sense for us to continue using it in a city like Mumbai.

As we went to check the effects of the car cooler after about three hours we were absolutely amazed with the results. The temperature inside was definitely much cooler as compared to the outside of the car, the leather seats and the metal parts of the car were cooler and not hot to touch and above all there was no bottle-up of heat that hits you when you first open the car after a considerable time in the sun.

With the summers in Mumbai at their terrible best, primarily the travel in the car is not pleasant but with a product like the Kulcar Version 2 Solar Powered Car Cooler it helps maintain a stable and cooler environment within the car which makes the journey worthwhile.

Product Strengths:
§ Solar Powered, so no additional expenses
§ Effective product; does what it claims
§ Easy to install, assemble and use

Product Weaknesses:
§ Solar Panel needs to be facing the sun at all times
§ Works only if sun rays fall on the entire solar panel

Overall I think it is a brilliant product and I’m happy to have had the chance to experience this product. The company Sonray has put its mind and energies behind developing this amazing product that is going to benefit users all around the world. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below and I’ll try to get them answered for you.

Happy Cooling,
~ Heena

I love gadgets… because it makes my life easier.

Asus EeeBook X205TA Review
With everything online, a decent gadget that checks all the necessary tick-boxes is a blessing in disguise. From connecting with friends to shopping online, from working on projects to boring research online, from watching movies to listening to music, from updating the social platforms to doing all the crazy stuff… all this and much more.

So the gadget that was perfect yesterday will soon be outdated today, in need of the great upgrade.

Why not find the one which takes you from day to night and today to tomorrow just as it is? Just as my needs keep increasing daily, the good folks at Asus are always one step ahead to cater to my needs. One day I was eyeing the 2-in-1 Ultraportable Transformer Book T100 when they offered yet another couple of winner machines.

The Sleek and Powerful Asus EeeBook X205TA and the Super Powerful, ultra-portable and connected Asus All In One PC ET2040. One look and you are sure to fall in love. It will be difficult for anyone to choose between the two.

The ASUS EeeBook X205TA is a premium notebook that weighs less than 1kg and is unbelievably light and compact. Designed to give a curvaceous and extremely thin tactile finish as a fanless notebook, it ensures there is no compromise on quality and performance. Additionally, a larger touchpad and a full sized keyboard add accuracy to the outstanding performance. The X205 is fitted with a dual battery ensuring upto 12 hours of battery life so as never to put you on the back foot, especially when you’re travelling. And what more it is equipped with a power adapter that is super compact and can be easily carried around.

The ASUS All In One PC ET2040 is a 19.5-inch ultra-portable desktop with built-in backup power, innovative hands-free gesture control and full I/O connectivity. Perfect for small spaces due to it’s slim and space-saving design, bright backlit screen and an adjustable metal stand that not only angles well but also folds away for easy carrying. Backed by the Intel Pentium Quad Core J2900 Processor, all tasks including photo editing, video editing or gaming and watching becomes so much smoother and seamless. An added is the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports that enable you to recharge your smartphones, tablets or other USB devices up to 50% faster and transfer data between devices up to 10 times faster. It is the perfect example of Innovation, Design and Reliability that allows you to experience a wide range of pre-installed apps for work or play.

Both these winners have a range of features that I look for in my gadget apart from a zillion other must-haves. A portable desktop versus a super slim compact travel-friendly notebook; the choice is tough. But not for me!

I’ve made up my mind, I want the ASUS All In One PC ET2040 for the girl at home and the ASUS EeeBook X205TA for the girl on the go…. I want them both.

And you?

One afternoon during our summer trip, my dad handed me a film camera and said, “Just focus on mom and me and then click on this button." That day and then cut to next 20 years, the clicking never stopped. The madness continued.

However, over the last few years with multiple responsibilities, I've lost touch with the silent photographer hidden with me. The pictures have become few and in between with less precision and more hurriedness. Sometimes I look back at the things I learnt from my early years of amateur photography and realise that all I need to do is relive those to realign my passion, my hobby with the New Year 2015. So the first step in the way is to own a Micromax Canvas Tab P666.

Micromax Canvas Tab P666 Review

~ My camera is my tool, so I abuse it to achieve the best pictures I can get.
~ An expensive camera doesn’t translate into great photos, so I invested in an expressive one.
~ Whatever I have, digital or film – Nikon or Cannon, it is always the best.
~ My camera is my shadow; it follows me everywhere.
~ My love for Travelling and photography are my perfect companions.
~ I’ve trained my eyes to see ‘differently’, it is an art that needed practice.
~ My simplicity is the key to my good photos.
~ I prefer to capture beauty in the most mundane environments.
~ Photography for me isn’t a hobby; it is a passion my lifestyle.
~ I like to practice in the sun rather than debating on photography forums.
~ I go insane when taking pictures; I sit, crouch or even lie down.
~ Taking several shots from different exposures, angles or apertures allows for experimentation.
~ Getting closer to the subject than ZOOMing in works better for me.
~ I live my pictures, I like to be a party of them.
~ I love silly subject as they make extraordinary pictures.
~ I realise that the more photos I take the better I get.
~ I discovered a lot about myself through photography.
~ I’ve come to realise that a good photo is self-explanatory.
~ I tend to show only my best pictures.
~ I love Candid photographs versus Posed photographs.
~ I am inspired by quite a few photographers; I take inspiration, however, I don’t follow them.
~ Criticism is awesome, as people have spent some time to see and comment on them.
~ Black and White pictures are my favourites.
~ I’ve created a few moving pictures that only a few understand. They are my masterpieces.
~ I love photography. My camera is my tool

Beginning tomorrow I'm going to let my passion take seed and work with my new tool to conquer the world through new my lens. And how do you think?

I'm going to arm myself with the Micromax Canvas Tab P666 that offers a great camera with a 5MP Rear Camera, 2MP Front Camera and 1080p HD video recording and playback option. Well, that's not all... The Tab offers an amazing Storage with an 8GB ROM that could be expandable to about 32GB. And the world will get to see the artwork because I'd have a unit powered by an Intel Atom Processor with a 3G Connectivity.

So keep those smiles on, you never know when you're getting clicked.

Dell Venue 7 Review
In my world of endless disasters, it's imperative that I find my superhero, someone who comes to my rescue and saves me. Someone like Batman, the Dark Knight.

In the year 1939, Batman first made his presence felt and immediately found a following amongst all. Over the years he has become the oh so popular and has flown out from the pages of the DC books into blockbuster movies and toy shop. With the Batman fever riding high today, DC Comics announced July 23rd as 'Batman Day' to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the iconic character. There are loads of offers flying around with publishers and various supply companies offering 'Bat-birthday' collectables and a brand new comic authored by Brad Meltzer.

In my small little corner in Mumbai, I have my very own Dark Knight saving me from the every day drama and epic disasters. My sweet little cutie pie Dell Venue 7 has proved every huge bulky powerful laptop wrong. My little knight in shining armour is not only pretty but also light on my hands, as quick as lightning  and as powerful as it's bigger cousins. It not only has a look that one can boast of with a slender form and amazing features but also compliments me adding glamour to my life.

The tablet is such a versatile piece adding so much to the lifestyle that I follow. From being the perfect cynosure of all eyes to a show-stopper fashion accessory to the most important and useful tool on the go, it is a lifesaver 'My Batman My Dark Knight'.

Here is a low down of what so special about it, apart from the usual highlights.
  • The stunning HD Screen allows a pixel to pixel detailing not only my favourite apps but the videos and movies I like to watch on the go.
  • The super slim device easily slides into the smallest and trimmest handbags, never weighing down my arm or shoulder.
  • The two-camera option is a sure shot winner for my professional goals and needs.
  • The battery life allows a whole-day utility without fussing overcharges and life-lines.
So in a nutshell, the Dell Venue 7 is an iconic baby with a powerhouse battery, dream-like design, paper thin, balloon light and available in breathtaking red and dynamic black.
