ICynosure

One afternoon during our summer trip, my dad handed me a film camera and said, “Just focus on mom and me and then click on this button." That day and then cut to next 20 years, the clicking never stopped. The madness continued.

However, over the last few years with multiple responsibilities, I've lost touch with the silent photographer hidden with me. The pictures have become few and in between with less precision and more hurriedness. Sometimes I look back at the things I learnt from my early years of amateur photography and realise that all I need to do is relive those to realign my passion, my hobby with the New Year 2015. So the first step in the way is to own a Micromax Canvas Tab P666.

Micromax Canvas Tab P666 Review

~ My camera is my tool, so I abuse it to achieve the best pictures I can get.
~ An expensive camera doesn’t translate into great photos, so I invested in an expressive one.
~ Whatever I have, digital or film – Nikon or Cannon, it is always the best.
~ My camera is my shadow; it follows me everywhere.
~ My love for Travelling and photography are my perfect companions.
~ I’ve trained my eyes to see ‘differently’, it is an art that needed practice.
~ My simplicity is the key to my good photos.
~ I prefer to capture beauty in the most mundane environments.
~ Photography for me isn’t a hobby; it is a passion my lifestyle.
~ I like to practice in the sun rather than debating on photography forums.
~ I go insane when taking pictures; I sit, crouch or even lie down.
~ Taking several shots from different exposures, angles or apertures allows for experimentation.
~ Getting closer to the subject than ZOOMing in works better for me.
~ I live my pictures, I like to be a party of them.
~ I love silly subject as they make extraordinary pictures.
~ I realise that the more photos I take the better I get.
~ I discovered a lot about myself through photography.
~ I’ve come to realise that a good photo is self-explanatory.
~ I tend to show only my best pictures.
~ I love Candid photographs versus Posed photographs.
~ I am inspired by quite a few photographers; I take inspiration, however, I don’t follow them.
~ Criticism is awesome, as people have spent some time to see and comment on them.
~ Black and White pictures are my favourites.
~ I’ve created a few moving pictures that only a few understand. They are my masterpieces.
~ I love photography. My camera is my tool

Beginning tomorrow I'm going to let my passion take seed and work with my new tool to conquer the world through new my lens. And how do you think?

I'm going to arm myself with the Micromax Canvas Tab P666 that offers a great camera with a 5MP Rear Camera, 2MP Front Camera and 1080p HD video recording and playback option. Well, that's not all... The Tab offers an amazing Storage with an 8GB ROM that could be expandable to about 32GB. And the world will get to see the artwork because I'd have a unit powered by an Intel Atom Processor with a 3G Connectivity.

So keep those smiles on, you never know when you're getting clicked.

Today I’m going to show you the basic steps to achieve a smooth, gorgeous look using Oriflame’s #TheOne range of products. With the festive season around, you sure want to look your best and here are just a few pointers that may help you achieve the look you want.
Oriflame's #TheOne Range Of Make-Up Products Haul and Review

The very first step would be to moisturise the skin and follow it up with a concealer to hide the uneven skin tone. Apply concealer in little stripes with a pointed brush in the trouble areas like under your eyes, around your nose and any visible spots on your face. Blend it into the skin delicately either with the brush or your fingertips.

Apply foundation in long drawn think lines across your face, down the cheekbones, alongside your nose and above the brows with a foundation stick brush. Blend in the foundation onto your face in small smooth circular movements to achieve an even look. Don’t forget your neck area; you don’t want your face to look propped up. Once done, dab compressed or translucent powder especially if you have oily skin to ensure that the base make-up stays longer.

Head straight for the Cream Blushes, you can even use the eye-shadow blushes from the range and apply to the apple of your cheeks. Blend it slowly toward your temples, smile and get that perfect shape.

Move on to your gorgeous eyes; apply a nice creamy shadow from the lash line to the brow bones and follow it up with the eye-line. Go dramatic with a bronze shade on the lower half of your eyelid or go eye-liner winged.

Make those lips lust-worthy with the amazing range of colours from Oriflame’s #TheOne. Apply a lip balm and blot it with a tissue before using your lipstick. Start application from the middle of the lower lips and run all the way through to meet it the other way. Gently dab the centre of the lips with your finger and reapply lipstick with gloss for some razzle-dazzle.

One rule of thumb is either you highlight the eyes or the lips. So opt with care the colours you choose for each of them. If you’re going dramatic on the eyes then go easy on the lips with baby colours and if you’re looking to go bold on the lips, stay simple on the eyes with a basic shadow and simple eyeliner. No doubt some of you may be adventurous to try the two together, but do so only after a few trials and errors.

Now you’re ready to party hard and have a great time. But before you head out the door, look back just one more time into the mirror and throw a kiss at that gorgeous girl looking at you.

Happy Partying

Kitna Chain Hota Hai Na Sachchai Mein Kinley

When we were growing up, our parents would read to us every evening. Sometimes we would enact parts of a story, or play a character reading their respective lines, or one of us would be the assigned storyteller for the day.  It was a wonderful experience growing up in such an environment.

A teacher by profession my mom would repeatedly read one particular story to us. No skits, no characterisation nor any disturbances. We were needed to just sit through the story recital and then answer a few questions. The story went something like...

One day a father took his three children to a park.

At the ticket counter, he requested for the entry passes, "Two adults and one child, please."

The cashier turned to him and asked how old the children were. The father replied, "The Engineer is Five, the Doctor is Four and the Musician is 18 months."

The cashier handed the father the tickets and said, "Five years and above is adult pass while below 2 years go free. You could have easily saved some money here. Who knew the child is five, you could have said four and I or anyone else wouldn't have known."

The father turned around and said, "Yes, you wouldn't have known. But the Engineer and the Doctor know and they would also realise that their father lied and cheated." He continued, "I don't want to be that father."

And then we would argue for hours after each question mom asked, giving our point of view and insisting it to be the right thing. We insisted it is okay to lie sometimes, isn't it? Especially if it doesn't harm anyone. And Mom always said "NO! One must always be truthful because you don't lie to another person, you lie to yourself."

Over the years, as a child, I have had my small lie secrets, which really didn't harm anyone but every time I did so I always thought about Mom and this story. From small things like ensuring we take the correct tickets while travelling, paying the right amount to the pheriwalas for bargain-able goods, refusing private coaching offers as it would hamper her school commitments, treating the house-help with respect, she set an example for us every walking time of the day.

When after university I started working with a multinational, dad's accountant was helping me structure my salary break-up. He tried hard to convince me to apply for HRA benefits when filling out the papers so that I could decrease the tax burden and earn more income per month. He assured me of getting all the necessary papers that were needed as proofs for the taxation purpose. After mulling over the idea for a very few precious seconds I refused point blank. The accountant thought I was crazy as it amounted to a good chunk of money.

I looked at my mom who was reading the newspaper and said, "I don't want to sell my soul for some money. No one will ever know, but I will have cheated and lied to myself." I could see my mom, my teacher's soul rise with pride and her eyes shine with love.

The other day at the cinema, my little one said, "Mom, you need to get my ticket as well. I'm three now. "That's when my belief in how my parents moulded our lives with their actions has been reinforced and I know for sure that my daughter has been listening to the same story from her grandmother.

After all Kitna Chain Hota Hai Sachchai Mein!

All All you lovely people know how my hair is my first point of fashion experimentation from going colourful to changing my hairstyle to going crazy with hair accessories.

However, with my latest experiment with #HairIsFashion I’ve gone really experimental with my hair, getting it styled shorter with side bangs. Now that the style is a few days old, I’m so missing my lengths. With a few traditional functions around the corner, I’ve been looking at what style I could incorporate to look the traditional Indian belle.

Hair Is Fun With Hair Extensions

With much ado, I headed out on the internet to look for some human hair extensions to play with my crowning glory. Reading through the websites and watching youtube videos I realised that hair weaves would definitely take more time to prep up my look, but since it’s once in a while thing for me I was excited as hell to experiment with it.

As I kept browsing from online store to store the costs varied and for someone like me who keeps the experiments going it is tough to spend a bomb on a particular thing. So I googled the most appropriate phrase budget Clip in Hair Extensions and boom there was one clear winner.

One thing everyone looking for natural human hair extensions must ensure is that the product is made of 100% human hair so that quality and texture is assured. Also with human hair extensions, there is no visible difference and no one is able to differentiate between real hair and the extension.

If you’re an experiential fashionista just like your’s truly pick a variety of lengths and colours in different styles like Hair Weave, Clip in Hair Extensions, Pre-Bonded Hair, Tape Hair and Micro Loop Extensions. You shall then have your very own one-stop closet full of hair styling tools at your fingertips.

Like I just mentioned make sure you tick the below boxes to ensure you buy the best, most effective hair extensions than just some random trial and error.

§ 100% Human Hair Products
§ Guaranteed Colour and Lengths
§ Consistent thickness from root to ends
§ Clips are lined with a Strip to prevent breakage

So what are you waiting for, step out of your comfort zone and experiment today, because #HairIsFashion, #HairIsLife, #HairIsFun.

As soon as the new parcel from Oriflame arrived I was more than excited. Oriflame’s #TheOne range of products that was launched in October has continued to pleasantly surprise me. Secret Santa arrived with some gorgeous lip colours for me to flaunt this festive season. Not one or two, #TheOne’s lip range has eight colours from peachy pearls to deep plums and reds.

Oriflame's The One Colour Unlimited Lipstick Product Review

What is Oriflame’s #TheOne Colour Unlimited Lipstick all about?
The One Color Unlimited Lipstick is what is going to revolutionise the lip product scenario in India. Touted as the most lightweight, long wear lipstick, #TheOne most certainly will give the competition a run for their money. Backed by the LIP GRIP technology that ensures the colour fastens onto the lips and infused with anti-smudge ingredients that will ascertain the colour stays longer, the product looks like a sure shot winner. Additionally, the texture is enriched with a blend of oil and butter which shall surely have moisturising properties.

What does the ingredient list look like?
Ingredients include Ricinus, Communis Seed Oil, Polyethylene, BIS-Diglyceryl, Polyacyladipate-2, Ethylhexyl, Palmitate, Cera, Microcristallina, Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Soybean Glycerides, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter Unsaponifiables, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Silica, Propylparaben, and CIcontent.

Which are the available shades?
The product is available in eight gorgeous festive shades; Absolute Blush, Always Cranberry, Pink Unlimited, Fuchsia Express, Endless Red, Violet Extreme, Forever Plum and Mocha Intensity. Each colour is gorgeous and must be tried.

How is it packaged and priced?
The lipstick is packed in an easy-to-use easy-to-carry super slip twist up lipstick tube. Just like the entire range, the outer covering is in a mix of purple hues from the darkest violets to the most delicate lilacs. It is priced at INR 499 for 1.7g with a launch offer price of INR 425.

My experience and opinion about the product
Just as I’ve fallen in love with the range of eye shadows, these lipsticks have scored very well with me. The colours are gorgeous and shall suit most skin types. What I really like is the hydrating and moisturising feel it gives when applied, though one would feel it be a bit creamier than what lipsticks are, I’m all for the texture. Since the colours are in darker concentrations even pigmented lips shall benefit from the application. For me, the product lasted over 5-6 hours just as applied and remained so through dinner as well. It sure is a must-have this party season.

Product Strengths:
§ Moisturises and nourishes the lips with cream and shine
§ Long stay, without any need for touch-up or corrections
§ Amazing colour palette, a huge variation in colours

Product Weaknesses:
§ Not available over the counter
§ None that I can think of

Will I repurchase/use the product again?               Definitely!
Will I recommend the product to friends?               Sure, Yes!

It was high time that my hair did some talking and so I finally opened the door to Lakme Absolute Salon to experience a much-needed hair makeover from their show-stopping collection. With constantly re-bonding my hair over the last few years, I wanted a different yet straight fall-look that hugged my face. As I headed for the Salon in Bandra a thousand thoughts crossed my mind. But I was very sure about 2 things, one was that I wanted to maintain the length of my hair and two I did want to get side bangs.

As I arrived at the salon, I was greeted by the Salon Manager Divya who ran me through a series of understanding my hair type, texture and what I’m looking to experiment with. She then introduced me to one of the senior stylist Santosh and we ran through the catalogue of styles and shades.

After understanding what each show-stopping style entails and the way it would probably look on my face shape and skin tone, we went about choosing the cut and colour.

I chose the ‘Helix Flair’ from Illusion without the hair highlights, but instead with a global colour.

Let Your Hair Do The Talking #HairIsFashion With Lakmé Salon

I really loved the style for two main reasons; one its a straight cut with the style hugging my hair and second for its forehead side bangs. The style is a high impact - minimalistic maintenance style which is most necessary for someone like me who has her hands full with a little girl at home needing more than necessary attention.

So yay, I was ready to experiment with a really fresh girly style with a global intense mahogany colour for standing out without being strikingly different that was especially tailored for me.

Santosh, my stylist for the experiment was amazing with guiding me about the steps, what he was doing and how long it was going to take. We first began with washing my hair to get a gorgeous clean hair to work on.  We skipped the conditioning and headed straight for the styling console.

He did ask me if I wanted to go for the cut before or after the colour application and as I preferred post the colour application and hair wash, we proceeded with the hair colour. Due to the fact that my hair has been treated numerous times, read hair straightening and rebonding; Santosh kept checking my hair for elasticity and density at every step of the way.

Once my hair was covered in colour, there was a wait period of about 40 minutes, throughout which he kept checking my hair for the colour consistency and dryness. If was such an amazing experience with personal detail to attention that I didn’t have to worry about anything at all, especially as I was in expert hands.

Once Santosh was satisfied with the colour, off we went for the shampooing and conditioning. A great blow dry later, he was snipping my hair just like an expert rendition of musical delights. Once satisfied with the outcome, he generously set my hair with a hair serum and voila I saw a new improved in staring back at me from the mirror. I was so self-obsessed by this time that I completely forgot to take any pictures.

Let Your Hair Do The Talking #HairIsFashion With Lakmé Salon

Look after my makeover. Yay, Love it

Now for those who want a lowdown on the show-stopping styles.

What are the styles one could experiment with?
There are three basic styles; Illusion, Metamorphosis and Moulin Rouge. Each style has 3 sub-styles from which you could choose. I chose the Helix Flair from the Illusion style.

What would the cost be for one of the styles?
The cost of most styles depends upon the length and thickness of one’s hair in addition to the style chosen and the steps involved. The approximate cost for the Helix Flair would be around INR 6-7k.

How much time would one need to spend to get the style?
Depending what style one chooses, it could take anywhere from 2.5 to 4 hours. I spend an amazing 3 hours at the salon to go from normal to show-stopping.

What is the after styling care one needs to ensure?
Always go for a good quality colour protection shampoo and conditioner to ensure the colour remains warm and doesn’t bleed off. Also, remember for colours in the red family, they bleed a little bit for the first few washes so do not be alarmed.

My experience and opinion about the service
To say the least, I absolutely loved my experience at the Lakme Absolute Salon. The stylists are extremely professional, they keep in mind your requirements and incorporate your suggestions into the styling. Santosh was simply amazing as he not only tailored the style to my wanting but also kept me updated on what was happening to my hair every step of the way. He also kept dishing out simple yet important tips to care for my hair post the styling to keep it looking as gorgeous as ever.

Salon Strengths:
§ Great styling options at reasonable costs
§ Highly professional and experienced stylists
§ Styles customised as per individual needs and budgets

Salon Weaknesses:
§ Spoilt for choice and that is actually a strength
§ No independent styling consoles

Will I use the service again?                           Definitely!
Will I recommend the service to friends?        Sure, Yes!

I'm a woman and more importantly a mother, who is always on the lookout of safe and secure means to survive this environment. With every surface you touch, every inch you see and even the air you breathe infected with germs and bacteria, you need a weapon of destruction against these enemies.

Off everything available in the market from creams to sprays to disinfections, my go-to products are wet wipes. I especially like to use wet wipes as they do their job while adding moisture to the skin and leaving it supple and tender.

Dettol Multi-Use Wipes Product Review

There are numerous brands available in the market and one such new entrant is Dettol. A pioneer in germ protection and safeguarding health through hygiene since 1933, Dettol has become a household name in India and all over the world. With Dettol’s entry in the multi-use wipes range, it shall definitely change the dynamics of the sector.

What is the Dettol Multi-Use Wipes all about?
The Dettol Multi-Use wipes provides protection from germs for your skin and surfaces, at home and on the go. Being pH neutral, the wipes do not interfere with your skin’s natural protection while the emollients moisturize your skin.

What does the ingredient list look like?
Ingredients include Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Polysorbate 20, Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate, Disodium Phosphate, Citric Acid, Benzalkonium Chloride, Parfum, Tetrasodium EDTA, Lodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone.

How is Dettol Multi-Use Wipes packed and priced?
Packed in a pull-out green and white pouch, it attracts instant attention with the trademark Dettol sword. The packing is extremely smart and cheerful in two variants. A 30-tissue and a 10-tissue packaging priced at INR 115 and INR 45 respectively with a shelf life of 24 months.

My experience and opinion about the product:
When I heard about the product and was sent a review product, my expectations were very high because of the Dettol lineage and brand value. Since the product can be used on skin and surfaces alike, I was pretty impressed and have used it sparingly over the last two weeks. Not only did I love the cleansing effect but I also like the fact that it leaves the skin supple and moisturised as well. After personally using it for a week, and being satisfied with it I let my little one use it as well.

With the product being pH neutral and alcohol free, I am rest assured that it shall not affect the skin’s natural protection levels. While travelling it is my constant companion for all my cleanliness needs, be it cleaning my little one’s face, to cleaning my hands from time-to-time to even disinfecting an area or toy that my little one is going to use. With the formulation specifically suited for a baby’s skin, this is a one in all product to be put in the handbag.

Product Strengths:
§ Does what it claims
§ pH neutral and alcohol free
§ Works on both skin and surfaces

Product Weaknesses:
§ Cannot be used to remove eye make-up
§ Expensive as compared to competition
§ No economy packages available

Will I repurchase / reuse the product again?               Definitely!
Will I recommend the product to friends?                    Sure, Yes!

Even though it is a bit expensive, the product finds a permanent place in my handbag only due to multi-functionality. To know more about Dettol Multi-Use Wipes and to give the product a try, get your pack here.

Do you think Dettol is synonyms with health and hygiene?

In The Eternal Dilemma, Do It Or Not

Just like great philosophers have been embroiled in life’s biggest question “What came first, the chicken or the egg”, all young adults are bound by the eternal dilemma “Do It or Not”.

To ‘Do It’ is all about an emotional high, when you create a union with your own soul that lives in another body. Being united with another being is not about fun or any high, but it’s all about something precious and protected. It’s more of an honour to be chosen as the one to share a wonderful personal experience with. However, it should never be measured in terms of a partner’s ‘worth’ or ‘purity’.

Unfortunately today ‘being intimate’ has nothing to do with love or desire; it’s become more of a status update or a want to please someone or even fall prey to peer pressure. Being a ‘virgin’ brings in a lot of shame among young adults, so it’s hard to remain one.

More than compelling young adults about abstaining and preaching about the ills of pre-marital physical togetherness; they need to be educated about their bodies. Everybody has power, power to worship and to be worshipped, to connect with another. However, it is of utmost importance to respect your own body and offer it to only the most deserving.  Religion and culture emphasis about intimacy to be a stepping stone into one’s married life, however when it happens outside a marriage, it cannot be condemned. Physical virtue cannot and should not be equated with virginity; as it is much beyond a few moments spent in abandonment.

Society today is totally hypocritical, believing intimacy as sacred to be cherished with just one post commitment, but behaving as if it has no meaning, being just for fun to experience numerous times to cast aside. There is no definite answer to the question because intimacy and union between humans is very different from that among other living beings. It is a way to express love and want while offering pleasure and desire.

Considering the classic most talked about couple, Adam and Eve who without being brought together by marriage ventured into the restricted territory. They are considered important characters who some believe are to be blamed for the fall of humankind and the existence of sin while some vouch as the saviours of mankind.

Believe in saving oneself for marriage is common, as it is continuously repeated in religious discourses and fed into our beings from a very early age. But for me being together is all about love, all about precious moments and being honoured to share a wonderful experience. As long as one doesn’t cross the threshold for mere fun or under peer pressure or under any influence, it is perfectly fine at the correct age with the right kind of protection and with a correct partner.

So, in a nutshell, I personally wouldn’t view marriage as a license to get intimate.

Every person has a different view which I respect. One such opinion is by renowned Fashion Designer, Novelist Poonaam Uppal in A Passionaate Gospel of True Love : A Mystical True Love Story. The novel outlines the journey of protagonist Moh Lal Rai from USA to India in search of her true love.

What is your belief, Do It or Not?

Max Life i-Genius Young Singing Stars Grand Finale

This week I had a wonderful opportunity to be enthralled by young singing stars at the i-Genius grand finale sponsored by Max Life Insurance.

Organised on a humongous scale the talent hunt for India’s best singing stars between the age group of 8 to 15 years saw more than 1.26 lakh entries. After three rigorous phases, the selection panel of Bollywood music director Salim Merchant, youtube find Shraddha Sharma and Devraj Sanyal of Universal Music shortlisted 10 performers who would have the final shot at the title.

Max Life Insurance and Universal Music came together on the night of December 17th to show the world, the kind of talent that rests within each and every corner of this country.

The evening saw wonderful performances by Mansi Scott, Shraddha Sharma and Salim Merchant who then opened the stage for the competition. As each of the children sung their hearts out, I just sat back to enjoy the varied renditions instead of judging the song or performance.

Just as we thought that the competition was heating up, out came the band Raaga Trippin’ to perform a series of amazing Acappella tracks. So mesmerized I was with their sheer talent and coordination that I forgot to click any pictures or send out any tweets. But you must check them out, they are spectacular.

Each child who performed deserved to take home the trophy and the contract with Universal Music, because each of them was a true i-genius Young Singing Star. The outstanding performances of each of the 10 finalists whilst the two rounds were mesmerising and soulful. Each child has their own sense of music and their own way of singing the chosen song. However there can really be only one winner and so after a tough task, the jury came back with the verdict.

Shradha Shreya and Shivam Ahuja won the grand finale of the Max Life Insurance ‘i-genius Young Singing Stars’ in the senior and junior category respectively. They not only took home the trophy but also promising careers that jump start with an album contract with Universal Music Group.

Even the other contestants were not going home without anything; all have a single song contract with Universal Music Group. Isn’t that simply amazing? I cannot wait to get my hands on the album when it’s out. And you?

Every winter I really worry about my chapped, cracked and dry lips that could completely ruin my beauty routine. Our lips don't contain oil glands and that's why during winter we lose moisture from our skin more rapidly than other seasons. Thus our lips form the most sensitive part of our body skin and so to combat the evil so dry chapped lips we must moisturise our lips through external elements.

Don't stress too much, we bring to you some really effective ways to get soft, juicy and silky lips.

1. Drink plenty of water to hydrate and nourish your lips.
2. Don't lick your lips as it tends to pigment the skin.
3. Add food items containing Vitamin B to your diet or take Vitamin B supplements.
4. Quit smoking as it peels away layers of your skin exposing delicate skin to the harsh environment.
5. Exfoliate your lips with a sugar scrub to remove the dead cells.
6. Apply and leave, ghee or honey on your lips overnight.
7. Use lip products that have moisturising agents in them and avoid alcohol, menthol, retinol and glycerin.
8. Remove lip makeup before hitting the bed.

Phew, isn't that such a stressful list, so much for such a small part of the body? But fear not, we have the most simplistic solution to your lip woes. Am sure you want to know what that is? Well here is the reveal.

Yes, my go-to product for smoother, softer, suppler, moist and juicy lips is the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop. So here's the checklist about the season's must-have product.

Tips To Care For Your Lips This Winter

What's Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop all about?
Electro Pop is the next generation Lip Balm from Maybelline that offers 8 hours continuous moisture. The product is infused with Shea Butter and Vitamin E that gives natural softness in vibrant neon colours. Electro Pop also contains colour pigments with lip renew formulae for a sheer tint of colour and shine.

What does the ingredient list look like?
Ingredients include polybutene, octyldodecanol, petrolatum, vitamin E, Shea butter, honey, candelilla cera, aroma, citrate, silica, parfumerie, etc.

What flavours is the Electro Pop available in?
The product is available in four flavour variations of Pink Shock in Watermelon, Berry Bomb in Blueberry, Fierce N'Tangy in Lemon and Oh Orange in Orange.

How is Electro Pop packed and priced?
Packed in a twist up black tube with a transparent cover, it is a smart and cheerful packing as you can see the product peeping out of the black tube. So if you have multiple flavours it becomes easy to pick the one you want to use. The cover sits on the black tube to fit with a click ensuring locking the product securely thus making it easy to handle and carry. Priced at INR 165 for a 3.5g product the use-by date is 3 years which doesn't seem that expensive.

Tips To Care For Your Lips This Winter

My experience and opinion about the product:
Love these love these to the moon and back. I used both the flavours sent and fell in love with Pink Shock in the watermelon flavour. The product line true to the house of Maybelline is a treasure to use not only this winter season but also throughout the entire year. It moisturises the lips and makes it soft, supple and juicy along with adding a colour tint to the lips. I love the fact that it does what it promises and helps regain the health of the lips with minimum fuss. It also has a lovely fragrance adding sheer and shine to the lips. Though the shine decreases over a few hours, the lips remain smooth and soft due to the Shea Butter and Honey elements in them. A super duper plus is fuller lips it helps me achieve.

Product Strengths:
§ Delivers on the promises made
§ Continuous use ensures soft, supple, smooth and full lips

A few days ago I drove to the airport to pick hubby, who was returning from a trip abroad. With the little one in tow, driving was a menace and every turn seemed accident prone. By the time I parked, I didn’t know if I was more stressed or relieved.

10 Commandments For Safe Driving

However, all my stress evaporated the moment I saw a familiar tall man stride towards me, with quite a few Duty-Free bags. Back in the car on the way back home I took the steering wheel with renewed vigour in a double excitement of hubby being back and in anticipation of the gifts that were waiting to be unveiled. In my enthusiasm to get home, sooner than later, I accelerated more than the desired speed limit and almost brushed a rider; when I cautioned myself. A sideways glance assured me that a safety disclosure was about to begin. But to my surprise when hubby began speaking I just couldn’t stop laughing.

He said, "Did you know in 2007 the Vatican Church issued a document called 'Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the Road' outlining Ten Commandments for Drivers as a sounding board to highlight the moral and ethical aspects of driving". As I continued being hysterical, he furiously typed away on his phone and he continued in a heroic tone,

"The Ten Commandments for Drivers are as follows:
1. You shall not kill.
2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.
3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.
4. Be charitable and help your neighbour in need, especially victims of accidents.
5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination and an occasion of sin.
6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition.
7. Support the families of accident victims.
8. Bring the motorists and the victims together, so that they can undergo an experience of forgiveness.
9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.
10. Feel responsible towards others."

"So you believe in these?", I asked.
"A few of them do make sense", he said.
Just as we were nearing home, I asked hubby, “What are your Ten Commandments for Safe Driving?”
After pondering over a bit he began -

1. Train To Learn
Perfect every aspect of the driving skill through a systematic approach in a learning school. Train with a trainer as much as you can, gaining a much-needed experience and overcoming hurdles as directed. Complete the driving test as per the standard norms and continue to drive carefully.

"You go next", he said.

2. Know Your Vehicle
As a motorist, make sure you know all about your car. It is most appropriate to know the strengths and weaknesses of the vehicle; ensuring not to be pushing it too much unnecessary. Just like human beings, machines to have their limitations.

We started a kind of getting one over the other. So he went next. The next point he looked straight at me and said with a lazy smirk on his face.

3.  Keep Your Eyes Open
Look around as much as possible while driving. Keep your focus not only on the road ahead but also make sure you look regularly in the side-view and front-view mirrors. Also never drive in the blind spot of another vehicle, stay in line, don't cut lanes and be visible always.

4. Signal Properly
Whether it is changing lanes, taking a turn or making a stop; always use the correct signals to alert the other motorists. A wrong signal could be misleading as well as extremely dangerous not only to others but also to oneself. Use the horn and flash lights as a form of a signal as and when appropriate. Do not overdo both as it could lead to serious issues.

5. Space Out
Don’t lean into the car right in front of you. Stay at a decent distance behind the car ahead keeping some free space as that is the only space which allows you to control and direct your car a bit different if/when needed.

6. Speed and Overtake With Caution
While driving make sure you speed and overtake at the right time and as quickly as possible. It is a sign of a good driver who accelerates and attempts to overtake in one shot in minimum time to clear the road of ongoing traffic. Remember speed is to thrill and not kill, speed only at mentioned limits on the roads and that too with caution.

7. Be Responsible
Not everyone on the road is as careful as you wish they would be. With things happening in fractions of a second, your concentration is the cynosure of your driving skills. Your complete concentration will ensure you mark every small movement on the road and react accordingly. And one important rule for being responsible is to do right - Don't drink and drive, dont talk on the phone when you drive, wear your seatbelt, carry breakdown repair gear, insure the vehicle, and keep vigilant.

8. Let Go
When another diver gives the wrong signal, or cuts the lane or is over speeding; let them go. Trying to teach someone a lesson may be fatal to your own being. Similarly, if someone does right by you, acknowledge with a smile or a nod and move along.

9. Maintain Your Vehicle
Even the best and most careful of drivers are harmed due to-ill maintained cars. Ensure your car is serviced regularly and its health is well maintained. Follow a comprehensive list of checks and replacements time and again before you take the car out of the garage.

10. Enjoy Yourself
Driving is a fun activity when the rules are followed. So switch on the air-conditioning, play some music and make the most of your time behind the wheel.

Wow, this is really cool, I thought to myself when I saw my husband secretly browsing through the Nissan Safety Driving Forum that promotes safe driving activities to achieve a safer India, one city at a time via the Safety Begins With Me initiative.

Reading through I was pretty fascinated with the program that began in 2012, when it covered New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai and now expanded to several additional cities across India. This year, NSDF aims to reach 8 new cities of Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Jaipur, Vadodara, Nagpur, Chennai, Mangalore and Kochi. The reach that NSDF has achieved over the last couple of years is phenomenally reaching over 2 lakh citizens. The commitment to promoting safe driving behaviour in India is sure noteworthy. With an impressive growth of 126% in normal driving safety of wearing seat belts, NSDF has also branched out into conducting live simulated experiences to understand how safety features function through a simulated car crash. A 360-degree overturn highlights the use of seat belts, while sessions on road safety emphasis road etiquette to stay safe.

Nissan seeks to support reducing fatalities and injuries caused by traffic accidents, and NSDF represents the company's commitment to contributing to young, vibrant and mobile India.

So, participate in the Safety Driving Initiative wherever you are and make India accident free.
