The last year has changed our lives in many ways however; the one thing that has tied everything together seamlessly is technology. We’ve seen path-altering platforms emerge and make notable shifts in different spheres of life, education being no exception. Schools took the technological route for learning, making the experience interesting.

While I stood up to the challenge and navigated through e-schooling my daughter, I kept looking for avenues that would help broaden her horizon and give her an edge in a technologically advancing world. And my search leads me to ‘Coding’ a new-age skill that seems to be the need of the hour.

Well, very simply put 'Coding is the backend language of computers that when communicated with helps perform a specific function resulting in what we see at the frontend'. Just like any form of communication, there are numerous ‘coding languages’, which have their own individual set of rules, and are to be written specifically to obtain the outcome.

So before jumping onto the bandwagon I asked myself, ‘Why is it important for my child to know this language?’. As I read up on the benefits of coding, I soon realised that not only is coding a new form of literacy but also a path to holistic development that brings personal and academic benefits such as:

Logical Thinking
Children today are born in the digital world and possess an innate ability to understand coding. A course allows them to use linear thinking and apply logic to break down, set and sequence instructions in a methodical manner to achieve desired results. It inspires them to look at and experiment with different permutations to see how each different set of instructions change the results.

Soft Skills
Children tend to move from one thing to another very quickly, but with coding, they improve on the most crucial skills needed to succeed - Consistency. Coding pushes them to continue to try again differently, especially when faced with a dead end. Consistency also enables them to realise other soft skills like communication, execution, leadership and teamwork.

Creativity
Coding may look like a very technical activity, but it encourages creativity as it requires finding avenues to achieve the desired result. So in all essence coding helps children to think differently, as they set out to turn a vague idea into something effective, something visual and something that works; through trial-and-error, by taking risks, and by applying their learning of the new language in new innovative ways.

So now the next important question is, what course do I enrol my child to? The internet is full of brands, platforms and courses, and so after rounding up a few options and researching about the courses offered on each platform I zeroed in on the Leapwaters Coding Camp.

Leapwaters is a learning platform that offers high quality, affordable, live interactive classes on essential digital skills in multiple Indian languages for children and young adults. The curriculum has been designed by a team of global experts and academicians, in a manner that is easy to absorb and fun to execute. The Leapwaters Coding Camp courses are outlined through new age teaching methodologies that make each of them highly interactive. I choose Leapwaters for:

Age-Appropriateness
The courses offered are for different age groups that have relevant topics that are age-appropriate and which increase from one group to the next. As the child grows older the courses offer continuity, with an appropriate advanced structure that is important for children.

Convenience
The convenience of online classes makes attending the live session easy either from any place with internet access. Also, the Leapwaters Coding Camp courses provide lifetime access to video tutorials in multiple languages, academic articles and notes. The instructor-led, student-centered courses ensure better understanding and involvement.

Curriculum
Even though the duration of each course is one month with a pre-set of topics to be taught, children are also involved in live projects with an amazing opportunity to make six coding projects, four apps, four games and two artificial intelligence and machine learning projects.

Assistance
The courses are easy and stress-free and also offer an option of catching up if a class has been missed. Apart from this it also provides free guidance counseling sessions if required by a student. An added is that every student is entitled to membership to The Leapwaters Entrepreneurs.

Value
The Leapwaters Coding Camp courses are valuable and that goes beyond the price of the course; which is extremely affordable and pocket-friendly, with an additional advantage of 10% discount on enrolling in Leapwaters Coding Camp righaway. The value the courses bring to the child with their quality programs, education experts, and community building initiative; makes it one of a kind.

Don't we all know that knowledge is power, and coding is the futuristic power that children will need to excel in the years to come? Whether they choose to use this power or not is completely upon them, however, we must equip them with this power today.
So don't think twice, enrol your child today to the Leapwaters Coding Camp, and if you can do gift a course to a child who may not have access to it.

Until next time,
~ Heena

I started to put my perfect summer wishlist together for a vacation, hoping the world would be all safe and ready for travel in 2021 but alas it couldn’t be. But what's needed is needed no matter what the situation is and so I grabbed some of these amazing products for myself already!

Though I’ve started to shop seasonally, which I'm pretty sure will last through the season and into the next, I've always been fascinated with fast fashion and so here's a peek of my current favourites - must haves with just a few checked off.

Off Shoulder Dress
Another must have this season is an airy off-the shoulder dress or top. I found this gorgeous floral print dress in my favourite colour and snagged it immediately. The fitted top compliment the wide, panelled bottom making it more flattering, perfect for garden or beach stroll.

Mini Buckle Bag
Mini bags are a rage this season and especially both vibrant and pastel colours. I found the perfect mini buckle bag on Wholesale7, in some gorgeous shades. I love the gorgeous checkered design and the drawstring patter that make it dainty and stylish at the same time. And guess what, it's at steal price of $4.35. Who wouldn’t want one?

Casual Swimsuit
I love experimenting with prints and so as soon as I saw this gorgeous novelty printed swimsuit I knew I had to have it. I absolutely love both a casual swimsuit as well as a sexy bikini set, and have stocked up on various prints and colours in comfortable, breathable, and flattering fabrics and fits.

Flip Flops
I love my manicured feet, with a hint of colour that peeks through flip-flops. No only that it's easier to keep my feet happy and breathing in pastel coloured flip flops that can take you fro out and about to the beach or even to a date. I’ve picked this gorgeous pair of contrast colour wedge flip flop slippers with a shiver of a heel that helps me float in air.

Hair Hoops
Hair Hoops or commonly known as headbands have shown the biggest come back over the last few years and it's my favourite in the hair accessories category. Some of the styles that I’m digging are padded, embellished, braided and knotted; and even a combination of these. I couldn’t pass the offer on this set of simple Tie A Knot bands.

And well I also plan to stock up on a lot of accessories, including body chains, anklets, earrings, bracelets and more from the 5 Dollar Store, which is going to be super light on my pocket, but stylish on myself.

Let me know in the comments below whats your summer essential?

Until next time,
~ Heena

Productivity is the hallmark of a life well-lived, no matter at any age. Of course, it matters that your kids learn the value of productivity or staying productivity from a very young age. There are several tips and tricks that you can absorb from the experts in this regard. You can always encourage kids activities at home and other hobby classes for helping children stay more productive in the course of each day.

Yellow Class will help you out with tons of kids activities online and innovative classes/sessions. As a parent you will have the power towards encouraging your children to get involved, brush up their skills, stay engaged and most importantly, stay productive! Success is actually not about results or final outcomes; it is about learning how to remain productive. Those who are successful are hugely productive, continually expanding their areas of interest and scope of operation while also learning continuously, each day at a time. They have friends, multiple hobbies and ample time for their families while being able to travel and enjoy numerous experiences in turn.

Successful and productive adults are more likely to have been hugely productive as children as well. Here are some tips from the experts, keeping the current digital age in mind:

Teach relevant technology skills - In today’s world, teaching your children the right technical skills will help them stay more productive. For instance, if your child can take a screenshot of something, then he/she can easily show the same to others instead of spending time on a phone call or message to explain the aspect. This is just an example. Start with simple things for children including taking screenshots and photographs, emailing, editing and so on. Technology will ultimately boost productivity a great deal!

Playing games together - Productivity can be taught to children by playing fantastically engaging games together on smartphones, tablets and other devices. These games will help your children focus on the task at hand and the technique works marvellously indeed. It will teach your children the value of goal-setting as well.

Get learning resources online - You can get learning resources and other skill sessions online like the Yellow Class. These platforms go a long way towards enhancing productivity by teaching your children things like dancing, painting, storytelling, creative writing, DIY crafts and a mélange of other interesting activities that will build their creative and social skills while keeping them productively engaged all throughout.

Teach your children responsible usage of technology and load division - While you’re teaching your children how to use technology to stay productive and encouraging them to browse for added learning resources or inputs, make sure that you teach them responsible usage of technology and also to divide their time amidst multiple activities (both offline and online) that they have on a regular basis. Teach them how to plan out tasks for the day and complete each one with short breaks in between. Encourage them to accomplish milestones and goals which they can write down and tick off alongside.

Memorising things - Teach your children how to memorise things and ideas that come to their mind and write them down or capture them. This will help in staying more productive and acting on ideas.

More than anything else, you need to set an example to your children as well, by staying productive and honing your own interests and skills. Your children will naturally follow suit.
