I started to put my perfect summer wishlist together for a vacation, hoping the world would be all safe and ready for travel in 2021 but alas it couldn’t be. But what's needed is needed no matter what the situation is and so I grabbed some of these amazing products for myself already!

Though I’ve started to shop seasonally, which I'm pretty sure will last through the season and into the next, I've always been fascinated with fast fashion and so here's a peek of my current favourites - must haves with just a few checked off.

Off Shoulder Dress
Another must have this season is an airy off-the shoulder dress or top. I found this gorgeous floral print dress in my favourite colour and snagged it immediately. The fitted top compliment the wide, panelled bottom making it more flattering, perfect for garden or beach stroll.

Mini Buckle Bag
Mini bags are a rage this season and especially both vibrant and pastel colours. I found the perfect mini buckle bag on Wholesale7, in some gorgeous shades. I love the gorgeous checkered design and the drawstring patter that make it dainty and stylish at the same time. And guess what, it's at steal price of $4.35. Who wouldn’t want one?

Casual Swimsuit
I love experimenting with prints and so as soon as I saw this gorgeous novelty printed swimsuit I knew I had to have it. I absolutely love both a casual swimsuit as well as a sexy bikini set, and have stocked up on various prints and colours in comfortable, breathable, and flattering fabrics and fits.

Flip Flops
I love my manicured feet, with a hint of colour that peeks through flip-flops. No only that it's easier to keep my feet happy and breathing in pastel coloured flip flops that can take you fro out and about to the beach or even to a date. I’ve picked this gorgeous pair of contrast colour wedge flip flop slippers with a shiver of a heel that helps me float in air.

Hair Hoops
Hair Hoops or commonly known as headbands have shown the biggest come back over the last few years and it's my favourite in the hair accessories category. Some of the styles that I’m digging are padded, embellished, braided and knotted; and even a combination of these. I couldn’t pass the offer on this set of simple Tie A Knot bands.

And well I also plan to stock up on a lot of accessories, including body chains, anklets, earrings, bracelets and more from the 5 Dollar Store, which is going to be super light on my pocket, but stylish on myself.

Let me know in the comments below whats your summer essential?

Until next time,

You may think, I have everything so well put together, even with two kids. But trust me this has been a long time coming, with numerous errors, horrendous mistakes and then small notes to myself, this almost-perfect situation is a commutative effort of many years of travelling alone, with family and now with kids. It does take a great deal of planning and a solid checklist that ensures I leave the house without having to worry on the road.

Here are the 8 essentials that I won’t leave the house without, those which keep me charged, fresh-faced, hydrated and prepared for whatever the day brings.

Shades: Shape, colour, brand doesn’t matter, but what matters is that I have one in each of my handbags to protect my eyes from the glare of the sun. Not only that I carry a pair for the kids as well as night vision sunnies especially those which help when I’m driving.

Earbuds: When on the go I love to listen to audiobooks or music and that requires a good set of earbuds. I prefer plain and simple in-ear earphones, but you can pick what suits you best from wireless or bluetooth enabled to over-the-ear or even noise cancelling ones.

Moisturiser: My go-to product, a natural multipurpose moisturiser is a triple threat, as I can use it not only to combat my dry skin but also chapped lips and frizzy hair. I prefer one with ingredients which include olive and jojoba oil, beeswax and aloe vera.

Power Bank: Yes, I never go anywhere without my phone, but what if it runs out of power? A mobile charger and adaptor along with a power bank are an essential part of the in my handbag products no matter where I’m going.

Tissues: Whether I need ammunition against small runny noses, or make-up disasters or just clean up a mess, my best friend - the tissue comes to my rescue. So I always throw in a couple of travel-sized tissue packs in my handbag.

Hand Sanitiser: On the go, especially with the kids I cannot and would not want to go looking for a sink to clean dirty little hands. The best replacement for washing and cleaning hands when travelling is a hand sanitiser which always finds a place in my handbag.

Healthy Snack & Water Bottle: A small snack kit is a must have in my handbag. A small pouch with a few mixed nuts, energy bars keep the kids and me fuller for more time. And to ensure hydration in the weather, a bottle of water is a must at all times.

Business Cards: Last but not the least, I never know who I'm going to end up meeting and where. So I ensure I place my business cards strategically in an accessible place in my handbag so I do not rummaging my handbag for one.

Is this a list you carry as well? Can you add any item in the comments section to make a mom's life easier?

Until next time,
~ Heena

There are some things that I just need in my closet like it a little black dress, a blue boyfriend jeans, a tan handbag and a red lipstick. Similarly, there are five tops that I absolutely need at all times to mix and match looks, to create never-ending fashion combinations and never run out of options.

Scroll down to know the must-have ladies tops in my closet, that even when repeated ensures a second glance.
Basic Tees
A basic white tee is an essential in every closet, for both functionality and style. I prefer to always have a scoop neck, v-neck or crew neck white tee as it works splendidly for my body type and can be easy to pair with jeans, shorts, skirts and more.

Silk Camisoles
A silk camisole is a go-to to go from day to night look within minutes. I love to dress up my silk camisoles with pants for an office look and throw in a simple blazer for effortless style. I pick camisoles with lace details and zigzag straps.

Halter Necks
A halter neck top is a perfect pick to look trendy while keeping it simple and casual. I love halter neck tops as it allows me to flaunt my back without much fuss, is super flattering and is also an ideal choice in the Mumbai weather.

Turtle Necks
A turtle neck is a form-fitting top that makes the arms look slimmer and the upper body leaner. Though most turtle necks are available in full sleeves, my favourite is those in sleeveless styles which lend a sophisticated alternative to basic tops.

Crop Tops
A crop top can either be a tight fitted one that is best paired with loose bottoms or relaxed fit which works best with high-waist bottoms. I have a few crop tops but I love to pair a slim fit one that sits just above my natural waistline with a balloon skirt.

Peplum Tops
A peplum top is a perfect option for a formal look, for a more structured look. I love my peplums for their nipped-in waists and forgiving flares and pair them with almost all bottoms for a stylish and comfortable look.

Button-Down Shirts
A button-down shirt is a staple for formal wear and is a must-have in multiple solids and patterns. I prefer to always pair my button-down shirts with formal pants, jeans, shorts, a skirt for a smart and tailored look.

Wrap Blouses
A wrap blouse gives an illusion of a dress, highlighting the neck and upper body. I love to style my wrap blouses with simple leggings or slacks for a fun evening look.

Denim Shirts
A denim shirt gives a peek into a stylish wanderer girl who loves the outdoors. I usually layer one of my many indigo-hued denim shirts with my silk camisoles or basic tees for a night out. You can also create novel looks with denim shirts.

Statement Tops
A statement top or two are the only ways to personalise the style and stand out in a crowd. I pick statement tops that speak to me in out-of-the-box colours and prints. I also stock up on party tops that are blingy that make bold statements and are the cynosure of all eyes.

All-in-all each of these ladies tops make styling my looks easy breezy and fun. Let me know which of these are your must-haves.

Until next time,

After After a tiring hectic day what do you really need?

A relaxing night’s sleep to cast out all the tiredness in the warmth of your fluffy bed, with a soft quilt and comfortable nightwear..  However to help our body relax choosing the right nightwear is extremely essential. It is extremely important to understand that all nightwear is not suited for everyone nor is it suited for every season.
Tips to buy Loungewear and Nightwear
Tips to buy Loungewear and Nightwear

So here are a few tips to consider before picking up the ideal nightwear for your needs…

Weather / Season
To pick the perfect nightwear one must reflect on the weather and season. Ideally in cooler conditions it is best to opt for full sleeved tops and pajamas whereas in warmer conditions, small sleeved tops and lightweight shorts or a long tank are perfect.

Fabric
Another very vital aspect while purchasing nightwear is the fabric that is suited as per the weather conditions. Cottons and Jerseys are light on the skin, ensuring that the material doesn’t stick to the skin allowing it to breathe freely. Thus Cottons and Jerseys are best for warmer conditions while heavier materials like Silk, Satin and Polyester are good for cooler climates.

Size
For a comfortable night’s sleep it is important that your night wear is relaxed enough for you to move freely. A little smaller in size will restrict your movements and a bit looser will pose a lot of obstructions, both causing uneasiness and distress. So choose the ones that are comfortable and feel good at the same time.

Length
Again the length of the nightwear is governed by the season or the weather conditions. For warmer conditions opt for shorter versions while for cooler conditions opt for the longer versions. However for special occasions something different that makes you feel glamorous works wonders too.

Colour
Usually the colours you choose reflect your personality and the same goes with the nightwear. Having said that lighter colours are most liked for nightwear, however for children and young adults a lot of colour and print options are available to experiment with.

With these tips I’ve over the last few years experimented with buying nightwear online and chanced upon an amazing young brand Nuteez (pronounced as New – Teez) that offers casual and lounge wear for men, women and children. The brand has moved away from the traditional concept of nightwear and ventured into a more funky – lazy approach to the concept keeping the ethos of it intact. I especially like the quirk element in the products that adds character to the dressing down time.

Made in India the products are designed by artists and designers from different parts of the country that highlights the soft peach hand finish that makes the products difficult to get out of. The products are designed keeping comfort and simplicity in mind, yet are extremely stylish adding to the persona and lifestyle of the wearer.

You must check their website here. They are also coming up with the summer collection very soon, will keep you updated.

Come back and tell me what you liked.

We are a day away from Valentine's and I’m sure everyone has wonderful plans. It doesn’t matter whether you are hanging out with your group of friends or chilling with your besties or ready to paint the town red or having that special date with the love of your life. What matters is that you should feel like a stunner.
Tips to dress for Valentine's Day

Some have plans for brunches, some for lunches and some for those cozy dinners and some are doing all three… So do that best takes you from day to evening in the least possible time. Embrace the femininity and flaunt your curves for all to see in some gorgeous  trendy dresses. And then the biggest question of all arises, should I go for a classic Little Black Dress and delicate pumps or a party ready Red Dress and Strappy Heels?

Don’t.
Tips to dress for Valentine's Day

Ditch the traditional combinations and experiment with new hues this Valentine’s. Go for pastels or lacy numbers or even some trendy dresses. Add the reds and blacks sparingly to step out, yet blend in.

Hang out with your buddies in a little more dressed up dress than your routine frock in colors that highlights your skin tone. Add cute accessories and carry that statement clutch to give your look a touch of super glam, untouched beauty.

Relax and unwind with your besties flaunting your delicate frame in a gorgeous maxi dress, add a pair of gorgeous sunnies and bask in the sunshine chatting away sipping mocktails. Add a hat for standing out and drape a scarf around your hobo.

Tips to dress for Valentine's Day

Have plans to party away the night? Pick a dress that is a bit flowy yet flaunts your assets beautifully and pair it with comfortable footwear that lets you move on the dance floor. Drape a sling across your shoulder to make sure you have your things when you need them.

For that date you’ve been patiently waiting for, dress your super best so that he has eyes only for you. Opt for a lacy number or a fit-and-flare dress to show a bit and hide a lot. If you plan to have a little bit of fun like a bit of dancing or walking around, then go easy on the footwear and accessorize a little.

Keep looking fresh with light make-up, dab on peach or pink lipstick and let your hair fall loosely around your face. Add one statement piece of jewelry either a cocktail ring or a large cuff.

Spray that delicious perfume and you’re ready to stun your Valentine.

Most importantly have fun,
~ Heena
