Women don’t need any reason to shop; however, we tend to go overboard especially during the festive seasons of Navratri, Diwali and New Year. The time of the year that is synonymous with lights, music, sweets and dressing up, gives us a valid excuse to shop till we drop. However, after numerous goof-ups, I’ve realised that shopping right is way more important than shopping. This mantra is true when buying things that are used rarely, especially festive wear that is repeated only a few times.

Indian festive wear like sarees, lehenga cholis, anarkalis, etc. pose a threat of being outdated really soon and given the price at which they come, it is very crucial to pick up timeless pieces. So in an attempt to shed light on some of the most relevant trends in festive wear, we bring to our readers a few rules that are universally applicable while shopping for festive wear, which will take you from 2018 to 2028 easily.

Play with pastels
Leave the reds and greens for the older generations and opt for subtle shades like ivory and nude. If you like a bit of flair rose quartz, blush pink and powder blue are colours that tell a story.

Skin toned blouses
Drop the matchy-contrast blouse options for a more bolder look with skin-toned blouses. The gorgeous yet outrageous choice can be achieved with sheer panels or net segments to create a nude illusion.

Flow with a cape
Capes are the new style accessory that instantly jazzes up any outfit and it has had a great run with festive wear too. Replace your choli with a full-length cape and see the transformation.

Tip off the sharara
Leave the palazzos, churidar and salwar behind and spice up your kurtas and anarkalis with some shararas. Layered or flared shararas give the regular outfit a fashionable spin.

Add drama with ruffles
Ruffles are making an inroad into the festive wear scene by way of sleeves and skirts. Adding ruffles to a lehenga skirt personifies the phrase 'east meets west'. Shop here for some of the latest trends.

Drape that dupatta
A dressy dupatta is most essential to bring out the beauty of a skin toned blouse. Revamp an old outfit with a new modern dupatta to create visual delight and hands-free comfort.

Floral all the way
Florals have been making inroads into the festive scene over the last couple of years and it sure is fast becoming the hottest ethnic staple for every wardrobe for it demure yet vibrant look.

Of course, you can still go wrong even if you follow these amazing trends for your festive wear if you do not accessorise your look right. So here are a few quick fixes that ensure you do not go wrong with your festive wear.
* Complement your traditional attire with appropriate footwear like mojris
* Keep your jewellery complimentary to your outfit and not overpowering
* Carry a bag that speaks tradition like a potli or batwa
* Go easy on the make-up but don't forget a bindi and kajal

Follow these simple style tips to shine the coming festive season.

Amazon India has recently launched an e-commerce store for handlooms in India in order to promote Handloom Mark products and India Handloom Brand on its marketplace. Amazon in this way has provided a new lease of life to khadi and handloom by directly engaging with weavers and artisans across the country to source products and retail them.

Amazon India is playing a crucial role in its retail journey by providing a recognition to handspun Khadi which is a symbol of India’s independence movement, popularised by Mahatma Gandhi, that has got a makeover and becomes a style statement, with designers giving it a modern touch.

The Director and GM of Amazon India, Gopal Pillai said that this initiative has been taken to support the surge in demand for Khadi products over the last few years and they have recently partnered with the Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board. He further accounted that to aim success in their new digital journey the company is offering artisans "the most comprehensive suite of seller services and all the requisite tools".

The company said that khadi and handloom have turned out to be an even more important focus segment along with the textiles and apparel sector contributing both indirect and direct employment to almost 50 and 35 million Indians respectively. The increasing demand for biodegradable and organic products and the fascination for natural and eco-friendly products is that what is aiding the trend. To achieve heights in this initiative and to breathe new life in these textiles, Amazon India has collaborated with multiple State and Central government departments such as the Telangana government, UP Khadi and the Gujarat Tribal Development Department to promote handlooms and handicrafts. Amazon has already launched handicrafts and handlooms in most of the states across India, such as Boyanika and Resham Shilpi (handloom) in Orissa, APCO (handloom) and Lepakshi (handicraft) in Telangana, Priyadarshini, Cauvery Handlooms and Loomworld (handloom) in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

To enable rural Khadi artisans and to directly sell their products on the platform, Amazon India teamed up with Uttar Pradesh’s Khadi and Village Industries Board in February. Last October, to educate Khadi Societies and Village Industries across Kanpur, Varanasi, Ghaziabad and Lucknow, as part of a pilot project, Amazon India started conducting workshops in collaboration with the Khadi Board.

Amazon India is running a programme called 'Kala Haat' in its handloom category and around 1.50 lakh weavers and artisans across 15 States are using its marketplace to sell their products. To bring the rich heritage of handicrafts and handloom, Amazon has teamed up with over 1400 weavers, co-operatives, artisans and apparel export promotion bodies. Now, the e-commerce major showcases 40,000 genuine handloom and handicraft products sourced from over 20 states.

The saree, India’s national outfit has been a closet favourite for centuries. The big-bright ethnic must-have finds room in every wardrobe, whatever be the personality of the woman. I’ve had my share of the saree and pallu days, which unfortunately, I gave up after the birth of my little princess, because how does a woman manage a baby and a bodice? Apart from the fact that with a little one in my arms, one of the reasons the saree took a backseat for me was the numerous changes my body went through after childbirth and wearing a saree no longer made me feel as confident about myself as before.

However, with the festive season around the corner, and loads of family weddings to attend, I so wanted to bring out sarees from my wedding trousseau and flaunt them. But how do I make it look great and perfectly draped? A quick chat with my mom and I was brimming with numerous tips on how I can make the beautiful garment work for me.

Pick the Right Lingerie
Irrespective of the fabric of the saree, the lingerie you wear underneath will have a great impact on the overall look. It is most important to select the right undergarments; preferably in nude, white and black tones that will compliment the colour of your saree. It is equally important to pick a colour coordinated petticoat either in satin or cotton that will further enhance the look.

Wear a Tailored Blouse
Nothing spells class as a beautifully tailored blouse that is perfectly fitted, hiding all your concern areas. It makes style sense to keep the pallu loose, especially if the saree is made of lighter fabrics to show the structured shape and design of the blouse. Hook in the bra-straps keeps the look neat and finished. Choose blouse designs that will compliment your body type.

Select the Correct Footwear
Ditch the high heels and stilettos, opt for traditional footwear that will compliment your ethnic wear. It is a universally known fact that kitten heels and mojris add charm to your saree. Pick subtle colours that would merge with the entire look rather than bold and feisty colours that would create contrast and stand out.

Accessorise in Appropriate Proportions
The best way to accentuate the look would be to add appropriate accessories, however, keep them simple and chic with one piece that is arresting in nature. To up the ante, carry a glamorous clutch or potli bag, or if you are the more adventurous types, show off your personal style with a minaudiere.

Though there are very few things to avoid where sarees are concerned, I would definitely suggest to shy away from wearing black or white tones, especially for auspicious functions like poojas and ceremonies. Also, I'd personally keep away from a low cut or revealing blouses that would draw unnecessary attention. Having said that a saree is an intrinsic affair, it is a timeless and mysterious drape that hugs every curve of a feminine body. So don't look for an occasion to drape them, create occasions to flaunt them.

Until next time,

With the increasing traffic, it is not easy to drive a big car with manual transmission through the city. In order to make your daily commute easier so that you don’t have to keep your hand on the gearstick regularly automatic transmission cars are a good choice. Now, you might be wondering what these cars with an automatic transmission will cost you a fortune. In that case, you definitely need to know about Datsun Redi-go. So, if you are looking for an affordable car that will be a perfect fit for your daily commuting needs then use the automobiles offers. Also read along to find out why Redi-go might be the best option.
5 Reasons Why Datsun Redi-Go Is India's Best AMT Hatchback
#1 Fuel Efficient

The Datsun Redi-go comes with a 1.0l engine along with a 5-speed automatic transmission system. This combination provides the car, one of the best mileage in the category. By going 23Km/l the Redi-go is more efficient in the case of fuel when compared to some of the best manual transmission hatchbacks.
This along with the brand name of Datsun, the customers receive the ownership without any hassle and the driving experience is extremely pleasant.

#2 Buttery Driving Expiring
The automatic transmission of the Redi-go provides a smooth gear shifting experience. When it comes to automatic transmission one thinks of the head nods, which are minor jerks that are experienced while shifting the gears. The Redi-go tries to overcome this hitch with the help of its state-of-the-art gearbox. This selects the appropriate gears accurately and optimises the performance while providing a smooth ride and keeping the fuel consumption low. Driving on the busy city streets or cruising on a highway, both will be a pleasurable experience.

#3 Innovative Rush Mode
The automatic drive of Redi-go comes with the “Rush-mode” feature. Generally, this feature is present in the expensive cars. What it does is while in the “drive” mode, the car will move forward at a rate of 5-6 Km/h after you release the brakes. This makes it the perfect option to use in bumper-to-bumper movement in the rush hour. The manual drive requires you to constantly use the accelerator and the brake to move forward in this situation. Whereas, in the Redi-go all you need is the brake.

#4 Dual Driving Mode
One of the best things about Redi-go is the dual driving mode which lets you use the vehicle in manual transmission mode. This lets the driver shift up or shift down the gears using the gear stick. If you want to be in control while using the peppy 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine of the Redi-go then this is a perfect choice for you.

#5 Great Features for the Price
With a great ground clearance of 185mm and a large cabin space, the Redi-go is one of the most practical automatic vehicles that you can get. With the driver-side airbag and the LED DRLs of the S variant along with the power windows and central locking feature with the remote key makes it the perfect choice if you are looking for an affordable automatic transmission car.

Conclusion
With a price tag ranging from ₹2.5 lakhs to ₹4 lakh, the car is not only one of the most affordable vehicles in the hatchback category but it is a perfect fit for city usage thanks to the automatic transmission and the “Rush-hour” mode. With the tag of Datsun, one of the popular Japanese automobile manufacturer it is going to be one of the most amazing deals that you can get.
