You may think, I have everything so well put together, even with two kids. But trust me this has been a long time coming, with numerous errors, horrendous mistakes and then small notes to myself, this almost-perfect situation is a commutative effort of many years of travelling alone, with family and now with kids. It does take a great deal of planning and a solid checklist that ensures I leave the house without having to worry on the road.

Here are the 8 essentials that I won’t leave the house without, those which keep me charged, fresh-faced, hydrated and prepared for whatever the day brings.

Shades: Shape, colour, brand doesn’t matter, but what matters is that I have one in each of my handbags to protect my eyes from the glare of the sun. Not only that I carry a pair for the kids as well as night vision sunnies especially those which help when I’m driving.

Earbuds: When on the go I love to listen to audiobooks or music and that requires a good set of earbuds. I prefer plain and simple in-ear earphones, but you can pick what suits you best from wireless or bluetooth enabled to over-the-ear or even noise cancelling ones.

Moisturiser: My go-to product, a natural multipurpose moisturiser is a triple threat, as I can use it not only to combat my dry skin but also chapped lips and frizzy hair. I prefer one with ingredients which include olive and jojoba oil, beeswax and aloe vera.

Power Bank: Yes, I never go anywhere without my phone, but what if it runs out of power? A mobile charger and adaptor along with a power bank are an essential part of the in my handbag products no matter where I’m going.

Tissues: Whether I need ammunition against small runny noses, or make-up disasters or just clean up a mess, my best friend - the tissue comes to my rescue. So I always throw in a couple of travel-sized tissue packs in my handbag.

Hand Sanitiser: On the go, especially with the kids I cannot and would not want to go looking for a sink to clean dirty little hands. The best replacement for washing and cleaning hands when travelling is a hand sanitiser which always finds a place in my handbag.

Healthy Snack & Water Bottle: A small snack kit is a must have in my handbag. A small pouch with a few mixed nuts, energy bars keep the kids and me fuller for more time. And to ensure hydration in the weather, a bottle of water is a must at all times.

Business Cards: Last but not the least, I never know who I'm going to end up meeting and where. So I ensure I place my business cards strategically in an accessible place in my handbag so I do not rummaging my handbag for one.

Is this a list you carry as well? Can you add any item in the comments section to make a mom's life easier?

Until next time,

Every woman shares a very unique relationship with her handbag and that includes me as well. Dearest husband remains astonished every time I walk into a store and head straight for the bag section, and even sometimes after a considerable time I return with absolutely nothing. I can say for sure that men do not understand the bond between a girl and her handbag.

However now with two kids, I no longer have the luxury of strolling through retail stores for my handbags and so my next best friend is an online store called Baginning that defines itself as:

One Shop, A Group of Dreamers.
On the Way to Lastest Trending,
On the Way to Best Lady bags Shopping Experience,
And on the way to Be Ourselves.
It's for fashion lovers, It's Baginning!

Tha'ts so me, my handbags are an extension of my personality, my world on the move and so I’m very choosy about picking my handbags because I look for quality, refinement and understated elegance. Here are a few pieces I've just ordered to celebrate my birthday month!
Tote Bag
I've first picked this super spacious rose genuine leather tote bag for the amount of room it will have to stuff things that I need when travelling with the kids. Also if one of the very few tote bags that I've seen with a zipper, making it perfect.
Laptop Bag
My next pick is a perfect compliment to all my work needs, a green chic laptop bag with a structured body that is as wide at the base, as the top. A perfect companion, absolutely complimentary to my formal wear yet a colour that stands out on its own.
Backpack
My last pick is one of the amazing fashion backpacks that is perfect for a night out with my girls. Sparkly and shiny this is a must have to rock every party look, be it a night club, a beach or a house party. And it can easily be a bag Heer and I can share.

And now for some important features of Baginning:
⟡ Online Payments, including Paypal, credit card
⟡ Free Worldwide Shipping with express 2-4 days shipping time
⟡ Hassle Free Returns if you are not satisfied with our product.
⟡ Dedicated Support for any inquiry, order issue, quality complain and more

India is a country of traditions where every festival, every occasion, every celebration is a multi-day affair; some with super intricate rituals and numerous functions. And those are the days when we throw caution to the wind and indulge in the extremes, be it elaborate decorations, sumptuous food, crazy music or traditional fashion. Ethnic wear and Indian celebrations go hand-in-hand. However, most people make the mistake of de-accessorising ethnic wear, which ultimately ruins the entire look. Fashion trends come and go, but the staple look always remains the same - a great outfit, complimented with beautiful traditional jewellery, flattered by some gorgeous heels and completed by designer handbags.

As a fashion stylist, I would at times compromise on things other than a handbag, but I know for a fact that only a perfect, outfit-appropriate hand accessory can do justice to an ensemble and make the person an iCynosure of the occasion. Not many think about a handbag when the outfit in itself is so enchanting. The easiest thing for anyone would be to dig into the pool of handbags, that you think will be complimentary and head out. But that sure isn't going to make any heads turn. You need to know which type of bag you shall need and when to carry it to look like an ace in the fashion game.

Potli Bag - Old World Charm
The potli bag has undergone some serious changes from the days our great-grandmas carried them until today. With new twists of embroidery and embellishments, the simple ladies carry purse has now taken the fashion world by storm. Perfectly complimentary with a saree, choli and even anarkali, the potli bag is now the most sought-after bag during Indian celebrations. The craze can be seen with every celebrity carrying designer potli bags and flaunting them away.

Clutch Bag - Lets Box It
A clutch bag has come into the spotlight for its structured shape, eased utility, effortless manageability, and overpowering appeal. The clutch bag steals the show at every occasion, especially when in multi-coloured hues or single toned in gold or silver. Perfectly complimentary with semi-modern traditional wear such as salwar kameez, half saree, etc; one can buy clutches online from numerous designer stores. One can even get a clutch personalised to redefine their individual style statement.

Minaudiere - Tiny Royal Wonder
The most modern yet most un-apt bag that works wonders with traditional Indian outfits is the new age minaudière. The cute little royal wonder is the first choice of a true blue blood fashionista, that will take you from good to great. Perfectly complimentary with modern ethnic wear like saree gowns, cape sarees, lenghas, etc; a minaudière though a bit too small to fit in all that you may need is a great way to show off your personal style and strut like a pro.

Do you agree with me? Let me know in the comments which are the types of bag you like to carry with your ethnic wear and why?

Until next time,

Today,
the most personal and private relationship I have with a non-living thing is that with my handbag. My husband remains stumped at the very thought of the number of bags in my closet and my need to have any more. I can vouch that the opposite sex absolutely doesn’t understand the bond between a girl and her handbag.

For me, my handbags are an extension of my personality, my world on the move and above all my best friends. Yes, I’m as choosy about picking my handbags as much as I’m about my friends. I prefer to pick quality, refinement and understated elegance over brand names, celebrity endorsements and price tags.

However, when I do see some of the most stylish celebrities and fashionistas flaunting a particular brand, I sit up and take notice. One such brand that has caught my eye is Los Angeles-based luxury handbag designer Farbod Barsum. The brand born of a passion for classic styling paired with modern vision in composition, FARBOD BARSUM specialises in what one could easily call ‘wearable art’.

The brain plus passion behind the brand, Farbod Barsum draws inspiration from his love of architecture and nature and creates a balance between structural and organic composition in his designs. The collection boasts of handbags, clutches, exotic passport wallet and accessories priced from $2,000-$32,000; visibly standing out from the various brands for its illustrious shape and texture that transforms rare materials and adapts them for use in everyday life.
A rare find, I just couldn’t stop myself from choosing my favourite and it was by far one of the most difficult choices that I have had to make, ever! The one handbag from the collection that would be my absolute must-have is the Empress handbag which is ideal for the jet-setting multi-tasker in me. Available in both a full size and a mini, the Empress is a genuine alligator skin bag that comes with an ostrich skin purse and is sturdy enough to endure a fast-paced lifestyle and elegant enough to command attention
Another product that I sure would love to have is the Ladies Alligator Wallet that would perfectly complimentary to any handbag.

Have you heard about the brand? Seen the amazing pieces? Let me know in a comment below which is the one handbag you must have from Farbod Barsum.

Embroidery
Wide, embroidered handbag straps are making heads turn this season. Thread, appliqué, studs, sparkle, sequins are all adding to the statement pieces.
Textured

As I headed to the Daily Bar and Kitchen in Bandra for the launch of Baggit’s Spring Summer collection, little did I know about what was in store for me. With a very small brush with the brand a few years ago I was mighty surprised with the scale the brand has reached as well as the new #PlayTheLifeGame initiated to unveil the new collection.

Buzzing with fashion enthusiasts, the Daily became a gorgeous playground for selfies, colourful mocktails and a whole lot of girlie chatter. It was after a long time that a blogger event gave us enough time to catch up with our friends as well as forge new relationships.

Amidst food and drinks, the brand began a presentation where they took us through the history of the company and a brief audio-visual by the MD and Chief Designer Nina Lekhi. Nina, a young girl first started making cruelty free bags 25 years ago in the 1990’s that today has progressed into the brand Baggit World. Inspired by Indian and international elements while armed with her own unique aesthetic, Nina started experimenting with canvas and faux leather to create handbags in her own signature styles. Her love for colour is emphasised by the vibrant colour-palette she picks for her collections that can be seen since inception.

The audio was followed by a short presentation of the new collection, and then we moved on to #PlayTheLifeGame one after the other. With three renditions of the game, there was so much chatter and enthusiasm, everyone tried their hands at the game and the winners were given bags of their choices. No blogger meet is ever complete without poses and thus we all poses with our favourite bags.

On closer inspection I loved that the collection reflected the ethos and the attitude of a contemporary Indian woman, who loves her life and abides by the ‘freedom of expression’ mantra to up her style, live life in her own terms and make choices that reflect the worldview. My bags are my secret treasure coves, that house everything that's dear to me; and so these have to be spectacular as well. Apart from the zillion things I carry in my bag, one thing is a must have is a bag holder, that ensures my little wonder isn't ruined or left just about anywhere.

So wait no moment, head to your nearest store to pick the bag that makes your summer more colourful and playful.
