L’Oreal Paris India launched an all new 3-in-1 Mat Magique Powder in 5 Indian skin-tone friendly shades at an extremely affordable price tag and I was amazed to see some of the normal concerns addressed in the product range. A compact that claims to blend into your skin for impeccable coverage without looking cakey, reducing the need of touch-ups and re-applications. I was super excited to try them as the product is enriched in SPF 34 PA+++ that will protect the skin from the sun and it is matte with a 12 hour staying power.
L’Oréal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Compact, Product Review

So I got 2 shades that I could alternate for the day and night lights and here is what they fared for me…

What is the L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder all about?
L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder is the first of its kind powder infused with volcanic perlite, natural yet powerful sebum absorbent. The results include Priming to ensure powerless skin protection that lasts 12 hours, Perfection to cover pores and minimises the appearance of blemishes and skin imperfections and Brightens to give impeccable instant fairness ensuring a shower fresh finish and sensation complexion. The product claims to be Non-Comedogenic, Dermatologically tested and tested for allergy.

What does the ingredient list of L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder look like?
Ingredients include Talc, Perlite, Titanium Dioxide, Zea Mays Starch, Cornstarch, Kaolin, Triisostearin, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Diphenylsiloxyphenyl Trimethicone, Diphenylsiloxyphenyl Trimethicone, Magnesium Stearate, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone, Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Auminum Hydroxide, Stearicacid, Caprylylglycol Ethylhexylglycerin Tocopherol, Titanium Dioxide and Ironoxide.

How is the L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder priced and packaged?
The powder is packed in the regular compact dual section case, one for the product and the other for the sponge with an attached mirror by the sponge compartment. A transparent lid ensures that you see the shade of the product through it. The product is priced at INR 399 for 6g with a use-by date of 36 months from the date of packaging.

What is the best way to use L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder?
For optimum results the product is to be applied evenly with a sponge all over the face and neck after moisturising and sun protection and before make-up routine.

N6 Nude Honey: An orange undertone that highlights the gorgeous dusky skin tone.
G7 Golden Amber: The deepest shade in the range that is perfect for a deep and dusky skin tone.

L’Oréal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Compact, Product Review

My Experience and Opinion about the L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder:
My first impressions of the product was it’s texture was creamy and soft and not at all powder-like dry and grained. The texture made it very easy to apply and blend in and offers instant radiance and a sheer-shine. I tried it with different bases including moisturiser and foundation and it set rather well with most of them making it a super go-to-product for a fuss-free medium to heavy coverage. I tried G1 and G2 and am happy with the look I achieved with both the shades during the day and night respectively. I tried to alternate the shades and was happy the G2 worked well both in the day as well as the night but G1 seemed a little off during the day. Though I’m not sure about the 12 hour claim, I can positively assert that it takes me comfortably from day to night without any touch-up or re-application on my normal skin. And it has SPF 34 and PA+++ which is a bonus for a product with that price.

The only thing that didn’t work in the favour of the product is in the packaging department. I fail to understand why would the product and the mirror be in different compartments, instead of being in the same for easy application. And the fragrance is very talc-like, so it smells like a very powdery residue.

Product Strengths:
* Soft Creamy Texture, Fuss-free application and easy to blend in
* Enriched with Volcanic Perlite, SPF 34 and PA+++
* Great Price point for a quality brand

Product Weaknesses:
*Packaging inconvenience thus making it difficult to use when travelling

Will I repurchase / use the product again?               Sure.
Will I recommend the product to friends?                 Definitely!

The L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder is a great product given its ingredient list and price point. And with the warm shades it is available in, I’m sure every Indian Beauty will be able to pick a perfect match for her unique skin tone.

Until next time,

The advent of the monsoon season brings in a lot of fun, adventure and romance. Unfortunately, it also brings in some crappy things like traffic jams, water pollution, and dullness in surroundings, infections and above all hair woes. You can protect yourself again the climatic with a good diet, restrictions on street food and protection against monsoon-related infections.

L’Oréal Professionnel Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range Review

But your hair is one thing that is always exposed to the harmful effects of the rainfall and thus you sure need to take extra care of your tresses during the monsoons. Going to the spa every other day becomes impossible and so I suggest you bring the spa home. Loads of beauty brands have now launched the hair spa ranges and you must find the one that is perfect for your crown. I tried the L’Oreal Professionnel Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range and here are my thoughts about it.

What is Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range all about?
L’Oreal Professionnel’s Hair Spa range claims to heal your hair from root to tip ensuring your hair strength and vitality to look beautiful inside and out. The products are infused with Water Lily that claims to have a soothing and calming effect on the hair, while it helps to detangle hair and supplements the hair fibre with nutrients and moisture for a more rehydrated, shiny and soft feel.

What are the ingredients of the Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range?
The Deep Conditioning Hair Spa Shampoo contains SLS, Coco-Betaine, Glycerin, Glycol Distearate, Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride. Sodium Benzoate, Polyquaternium-6, Amodimethicone, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Salicylic Acid, Carbomer, Citric Acid, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicyate. Trideceth-6, Linalool, Butylphenyl, Methylpropional, Benzyl Alcohol,Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Coumarine, Cetrimonium Chlirode, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract and Sodim Hydroxide. The Deep Conditioning Hair Spa Conditioner contains Cetearyl Alcohol, Water, Mineral Oil, Behentrimonium Chloride, Isopropyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benxyl Salicylate, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone and Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract.

How is the Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range packaged and priced?
The range is packed in a gorgeous blue bottle and tube with a contracting grey cap. The caps are specific to packaging styles with a flip cap on the shampoo bottle and a screw cap on the conditioner tube. The range is priced at INR 400 each for the shampoo (230ml) and conditioner (200ml).

How is my experience with the Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range?
The L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa range is available in two variants Deep Nourishing and Detox. The Deep Nourishing range is apt for hair that is dry and prone to getting frizzy while the Detox range is apt for hair that is oily and prone to dandruff.

L’Oréal Professionnel Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range Review

As I started my hair spa the first thing I noticed was the texture of the products which were extremely light and breezy. The Shampoo is creamy in a very light way and foams rather well and cleans exceptionally. Thus you will need very little portions during each wash to get rid of all residual including the monsoon grease and oil. The conditioner is again pretty light to use and allows the hair to breathe well after use. It does its job of giving the extra shine and smoothness to the hair setting it well naturally.

Over the course of the day, my hair remained soft and smooth, was easy to style and most important remained in place. Since I wash my hair every alternate day I have not had a problem of dry and fizz, greasy and oiliness since some time now. However, the real test will be in the monsoon season and during my trip to Sri Lanka later this month.

Overall, I would say this range is good for all hair types and would work all over the seasons. It cleanses the scalp well and leaves the hair soft, smooth and frizz-free. The range is mild enough for everyday use and is a winner; however, the presence of SLS is a dampener due to the huge debate going around on the effects of sulphate on hair; especially as it is unadvised on my chemically straightened hair. But all-in-all, it’s a good range to use once a fortnight to achieve the small hair miracles.

Product Strengths:
§ Cleanses hair thoroughly
§ Nourishes to smoothen hair

Product Weaknesses:
§ Contains SLS and Alcohol
§ Available only in professional beauty salons

Will I purchase the range again for personal use?           Maybe
Will I recommend the range to my friends & family?        Maybe

Have you tries the Hair Spa range from L’Oreal Professionnel? What are your thoughts on the products?

Shine on, Style on,

Do you remember earlier this year when L'Oréal Paris, India launched their Colour Riche Pure Reds Collection they invited bloggers from the city for a unique experience. We were pampered by ace Hair and MakeUp Expert, Namrata Soni and then photographed by photographer par excellence, Rema Chaudhary to reveal the shades of the collection.

That I thought was pure luxury and hardly any other blogger activity could be more fun and pampering. However I am so glad to say I was wrong and that experience was taken a few notches up by L'Oréal Paris,  last week. The folks once again invited the same set of bloggers for the launch of the new #CannesStars Collection with ambassadors Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.

I'm Marvellous Matte For L'Oréal's Cannes Collection 2015, What I Wore

Social media was abuzz with the hashtags #YouCannes #MarvellousMatte and #GlamorousGloss and some really lucky girls got to be part of the collection launch in Mumbai walking alongside the stars. Not likely to be left behind, bloggers also put on their best foot forward in Red Carpet looks for an opportunity to meet and interact with the stars and an exclusive photo opportunity. I was excited to be part of Sonam’s TeamMarvellousMatte and experimented with the products sent over by the brand well in advance to achieve the look I wanted.

Here is how my look tuned out for the day… I used the Colour Riche Moist Matte Lipstick in Raspberry Syrup and Super Liner Gel Intenza in Sapphire Blue, the exclusive Cannes Collection. Sonam was wearing the same shade as I was and apparently both of us like it the best from the entire collection even though the Cannes 2015 collection has some spectacular shades of gel eyeliner, and less experimented shades of gloss and some beautiful newer Swarovski embellished limited edition moist matte lipsticks.

I'm Marvellous Matte For L'Oréal's Cannes Collection 2015, What I Wore

Since at the #RedParty I wore Blake Lively’s Pure Scarleto I was sure that the new Raspberry Syrup matte lipstick would suit my skin tone perfectly. I loved the pigmentation it offered and the staying power is phenomenal. I usually shy away from eye makeup due to the fact that I have super-sensitive eyes but I just couldn’t resist the gorgeous colour of the Sapphire Blue Gel Intenza eye-liner. The brush helps the gel slide evenly and achieves the shape you want easily; it’s now my go-to product for my eye makeup.

My outfit is one of the many I purchased from Myntra which I dug out of my wardrobe after wondering what to wear for one whole day. I complimented my outfit with some amazing Vintage Desi accessories including a Namrata Kedia Gold Cuff and Shillpa Purii Pearl Ring. My new Dune London heels suited the outfit perfectly adding the much-needed pop of colour to the entire look. And then of course the L'Oréal Paris, Raspberry Syrup was the icing on the cake.

Not to be left behind, I quickly stole a moment to speak to Katrina and got a picture taken too. She is the perfect #GlossGoddess.

What do you think about my look? Was it a Hit or a Miss? Leave me your comments.

2015 has arrived with a bang. In the very first month, I've collaborated with two amazing beauty brands and three gorgeous fashion brands to bring to you the best that the industry can offer. First things first! If you follow me on Instagram and/or Twitter, you sure know all about it. But if not, don’t worry you shall, but all in good time.

The L'Oréal Launches the Cannes Collection At The Red Party #GoRouge

A very exciting project was initiated by L'Oréal Paris India, where the brand invited beauty bloggers from Mumbai to collaborate for their L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Pure Reds Collection. Every blogger was styled by Hair and Makeup Expert, Namrata Soni before shinning in the limelight to be beautifully clicked by photographer par excellence, Rema Chaudhary. The amazingly eventful day organized by PR gurus at FoxyMoron was infused with manicures and nail art sessions while sipping cocktails and munching on pizzas at LIV, the club.

Having met Namrata at various L'Oréal workshops, being styled by her was an amazing experience. She and her team spent considerable time with each of us to understand our individual uniqueness and then style us accordingly. Every blogger was flaunting a shade from the Pure Red range of matte lipsticks that flattered her persona, her skin-tone and her individuality.

Here is a checklist of the different shades, and which beauty endorses it!

The L'Oréal Launches the Cannes Collection At The Red Party #GoRouge
Shades Available: Gong Li-Pure Amaranthe, Fan Binbing-Pure Vermeil, Sonam Kapoor-Pure Garnet,
Aishwarya Rai-Pure Brick, Freida Pinto-Pure Rouge, Blake Lively-Pure Scarleto, Li Bing Bing-Pure Fire

It was a whirlwind session, where Namrata’s assistant first did my base makeup and then Namrata did my hair. As I looked at myself, I was all set to flaunt the reds endorsed by any of the Indian beauties and was amazed when Namrata picked out the Pure Scarleto endorsed by the beautiful Blake Lively. I was stumped, thinking I’d look so unnatural, but I had faith in Namrata and we went ahead with the lip colour.

The L'Oréal Launches the Cannes Collection At The Red Party #GoRouge

The end result is here for you to see… I was a new person, born to stand out. A colour so unique that I just couldn't recognise myself!

The L'Oréal Launches the Cannes Collection At The Red Party #GoRouge

Once I was ready I was rushed to the photo-session and after a few awkward poses, I kind of got into the rhythm. After a few takes I was at ease and the pictures got done in a few minutes. A wonderful afternoon came to an end when all the bloggers were brought together for a group photo… It was fun, chaotic madness… Moving bloggers around numerous times, taking a zillion shots where either someone was yawning, or someone was napping or someone wasn't looking at the camera.

And here are the pics that the talented Rema took. After a crazy hectic day, these pictures make all the efforts worthwhile.

We have met on numerous occasions for events, parties and shopping but the L'Oréal Paris India #RedParty gave us the time to bond like girls; giggling, laughing, gossiping and flaunting. It was an evening that all of us would cherish forever.

Don’t the pictures say it all?
