#WorldInteriorsDay calls every decor enthusiast to experiment with new and innovative ideas on personalising their homes and personal corners. Two aspects that decor experts concentrate on is the play of colours and textures to make a simple corner into a dream space; which not many realise can be achieved by a few tweaks in the existing interiors of the home.

The Colour Store that believes in where designs meets possibilities and ideas meet execution holds regular workshops, experientials and DIY's where consumers can experiment before deciding on the way forward. On the occasion of ‘World Interiors Day’, the #AsianPaints #ColourStoreBandra celebrated interiors with a unique movies-inspired workshop with an aim of educating interiors enthusiasts on aspects of colour, design, textures, etc to change their living spaces. The workshop was poised as an 'Intelligent and Inspiring Interiors, from the Silver Screen to your Homes' where enthusiasts could visualise the design aspects from films and bring them to their homes. The workshop was conducted by Film Production Designer, Shruti Gupte of Taare Zameen Par, Aisha, The Lunchbox and Khoobsurat fame.

Shruti took the audience through the process of designing as a film production designer talking about associating individual colours with the characters and then weaving a design story around them to highlight their individual traits. Speaking of her movie experiences she emphasised how we as consumers need to make ourselves the heroes and heroines of our own movie scripts. She added how colours and textures are not to be feared but embraced as part of our personality as our personal and professional environments are an extension of our personality and should inspire our days, help create memories or convey our aspirations. She continued that just as movies take inspiration from our reality similarly we should let reel-ties become our reality. Agreeing that it is a step-by-step moving out of our comfort zone to experiment that is not always an easy decision, she nudged consumers to allow Asian Paints Colour Store to assist in realising our dreams before we choose to make it to the permanent change.

Amit Syngle, President-Sales, Marketing and Technology, Asian Paints Ltd. concluded with sharing insights on how to choose the right colour and initiating firsthand experience activities to engage consumers at the Colour Store. So whether you are looking for Signature Walls or Statement Furniture, or just visualising your space before committing to the change, head straight to the Asian Paints’ Colour Store, Bandra to be inspired.

Fashion is all about being comfortable in your own skin while putting your most stylish foot forward. Unfortunately, fashion trends change every season and for a normal girl like you and me, it is very difficult to keep up with them since it does cost a lot of money.

However being in a fashion-forward city like Mumbai, where every corner is busting with boutique stores and malls, it becomes very difficult to stay in the classic fashion cell. However, over time, I’ve moved from the traditional methods of shopping to the more contemporary ways that not only saves me time and money but also offers me much more choice and option.

The online shopping scenario has slowly yet steadily grown onto me, with the influx of numerous fashion portals. And since I’m such a strong advocate of the benefits of online shopping, here are a few tips that will help you stay on trend and jazz up your wardrobe with the most in-demand pieces at the fraction of the prices.

Add Products to the Cart
While surfing, keep adding products to your cart and leave them there for a few days. If you are lucky enough you might end up getting an additional coupon code or a better price offer via email or the app alert.

Being a parent, I tend to keep adding various products from dresses for girls to cute accessories, from toys to school supplies to my cart and wish list regularly. I was surprised to receive an email from the portal a day after my browsing session offering me a reduced price for products that were on my wish list. Without losing a moment I clinched many products for a fraction of its price for my little princess, one being this super stylish dress that’s perfectly on trend.

Opt for Email Alerts
It’s a good idea to sign up for email alerts with your favourite store so as not to miss the online sales and regular offers. Some online portals also offer coupon codes depending on your spend history or a discount just to join the mailing list.

It was an online shopping high when I received an email with an amazing offer for a ladies watch I was eyeing for a while. I managed to get the watch at an amazing price of about 60% of its retail price.

So with these simple tips you must get online and shop as and when you want, because unlike the brick and mortar stores, online stores don’t pay any rent or employ a huge staff thereby passing on all the saving to you, the customer.

Pearl Academy, India’s leading private institution for Fashion, Design and Business; founded in Delhi now has three campuses across the country in Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai. Fashion students came up with interesting ideas like a fashion line inspired from planet Mars and sustainable fashion fabrics.

Unlike routine graduating ceremonies, the PearlPortfolio featured varied lines including casual wear, bridal and maternity wear and kids and mens wear. Below are the three things that I loved about the event…

The delight of Shanghai, on the Pacific Oceans' western shore, lies in the simplicity it holds on either side of the Huangpu River. Puxi, west of the Huangpu River, is considered older Shanghai, with its traditional shops, restaurants, and museums. Modern Pudong on the east is lined with high-rise buildings and boutique hotels. Whether you see the city as a traditional fishing village or a seaport, choose an easily accessible Shanghai hotel to make the most of your visit. When in Shanghai, explore these attractions.

Meditate at a temple built in early 220AD. The Jingan Temple, the most famous temple in Shanghai, is under National Protection. It has three meditation halls: Hall of Heavenly Kings, Mahavir Hall, and Three Sage Hall. Jing'an is most visited for the portrait of Sakyamuni, which brings inner peace and commands reverence. Every year a traditional fest is held at the temple to celebrate Lord Buddha's birthday.

No doubt with the surge in the number of online ecommerce platforms one is bound to find some amazing discounts, however did you know that there is a way one can earn back a portion of the money spent?

Does Shopback really work?Online Deals and Discounts

Online Deals and Discounts

I found the cashback portal Shopback while looking to book a much-needed summer getaway out of the chaotic city of Mumbai. I used MakeMyTrip via the link on Shopback and surfed to find the Jakson Inns in Phaltan, Satara and quickly booked my weekend break with the amazing property. Back to the cashback portal I surfed to book my travel; Paytm came to my rescue and I could book my bus ride from Mumbai to Satara. When I checked to see what I've earned as cashback it was a good INR 1k rupees on a spend of INR 6k. Not a bad deal at all, especially with cashback on top of Paytm offers and MakeMyTrip offers.

I love Shopback not only for its main concept of cashback but also for the super easy interface with direct access to the latest deals and promotions.

Have you used a cashback site Shopback or a similar one before?

The beauty of the US mountain states lies in their diversity. Imagine climbing some of the highest mountains in the country or driving through a wide expanse of desert lands — or hiking through beautiful canyons and jumping into a blue lagoon. You’ll fall in love with the beauty. Here are some destinations in both the northwest and southwest regions of the mountain states.

Flagstaff, Arizona: Base of Your Adventures
Flagstaff is a city graced with diverse landscapes: picturesque deserts, serene mountains, and pine forests. It is the entry point for your Humphrey’s Peak adventure and the Grand Canyon. Alternative destinations are the Wupatki National Monument and the Walnut Canyon National Museum, where you can immerse yourself in the rich history of the area.  Finding great hotels in Flagstaff should be the least of your concern. At DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Flagstaff, your comfortable bed ensures a sound sleep. Plus, you’ll get a complimentary cookie upon check-in.

Salt Lake City, Utah: Home of Canyonlands
For a city, there is none more geographically gifted than Salt Lake City, which lies between the Wasatch mountain ranges and the Great Salt Lake. You can explore the nearby Canyonlands National Park to explore. Take in the buttes designed by the Colorado River. If you prefer knowing the city more, check the architecture of Temple Square, the Salt Lake Tabernacle, and in Utah State Capitol, to name just three. If you’re on a budget, you can find cheap Salt Lake City hotels. For its strategic location, Residence Inn by Marriott Salt Lake City – Downtown makes everything within reach and is affordable.

Saint George, Utah: Love by the Border
Situated in southwestern Utah, Saint George is near the border between Utah and Arizona, making it an ideal location for travellers who have long road trips in mind. Trek through Snow Canyon Park, and wait for the gorgeous sunset. Visit Sand Hollow State Park, the Mojave Desert, or the Pine Valley Mountains. You can easily find affordable hotels in Saint George. For example, The INN at Saint George offers great comfort for a very reasonable price.

Glenwood Springs, Colorado: A Dip in the Hot Spring
Hearing the name Glenwood Springs may make you think of the huge Glenwood Hot Springs Pool. Imagine dipping your tired body in welcoming warm water. It’s an instant cure for your sore muscles after a day of hiking around the Hanging Lake Trail or enjoying Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. If you’re looking for upscale Glenwood Springs hotels, try The Hotel Denver, situated near the train station. This hotel provides great breakfast choices, and its rooms are elegant and comfortable.

Billings, Montana: The Thrill of the Magic City
Billings, the largest Montana city, is not nicknamed the Magic City for nothing. The name came from the city’s rapid growth, and Billings continues to grow. For leisure and business travellers alike, there are many things to do here. Pictograph Cave State Park and the Rimrocks appeal to the adventurous, while the Western Heritage Center and the Yellowstone Country Museum interest the history lovers. If you’re looking for Billings hotels that fuse the historical and the exciting, the Northern Hotel may be the perfect place for you.

Mountain state destinations are among the most exciting in the U.S. So go ahead and pack so you can find your own adventure.

Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience. -- Francis Bacon

A few years ago I travelled to a county full of rugged mountains and sandy beaches, with an ocean of ancient reefs thrown in and acres of rainforests to escape into. It was by far one of the perfect places to experience an exciting post-graduation rush with friends and feel the air of freedom. We chose plush five-star hotels against cosy home stays, followed a tight itinerary and dived straight into exploring the must-visit spots.

We were in Malaysia, a perfect home away from home.

However now that I am no longer as young as I used to be, I wish to visit Malaysia yet again; however, this time without an itinerary, opting to stay in cosy home-stays and discovering the country's multi-cultural diversity.

I'd first want to take a direct flight into the country with Malaysia Airlines and land into Kuala Lumpur. Even though the capital city of Malaysia is full of tourist attractions and experiences from child friendly parks and enormous wide life to renowned world heritage sites contrasting man-made towering skyscrapers, tantalizing food and shopping delights; I'm going to book in such a way that my Flight Schedule allows me to take a connecting flight straight into the Malaysian Borneo.

Sabah fondly called the land below the winds has been my dream destination since my first visit to the country. With rich natural experiences including the Tabin Wildlife Reserve, the Orangutan Rehabilitation Sanctuary, the Ranau Pouring Hot Springs, the gorgeous Sipadan island for diving among large pelagic species to muck diving at Mabul; Sabah is the perfect natural retreat for every traveller - adventurous or wildlife lover or one looking for leisure.

However, I want to head straight to Kinabalu National Park to experience a once-in-a-lifetime climb of Mt. Kinabalu and witness the other end of the world beyond the clouds.

Climbers have penned their experiences and just reading them gives me goosebumps. The two day scheduled climb takes a climber to the summit at Low's Peak to witness a spectacular view from 4095 meters above sea level. I'm sure I'd feel on top of the world with a view that will reach beyond the vision of my eyes, a climb that will give me a new perspective to life. From the relaxed ascend up to Layang-Layang to the difficult climb to Laban Rata, climbers have witnessed the beauty of rainforest trails and the rocky trails, navigated through steep inclines and uphill turns.

After all the trials the thick forest will finally open up into a rocky plateau of Laban Rata guesthouses, where climbers retire for the night. The next morning each step of the way to the Sayat-Sayat checkpoint offers exhilarating views in all directions... St John's Peak to the west, the Donkey's Ears to the east and the distinctive South Peak to the south shall give climbers a glimpse of what's to come. And then the dream to sit back and soak in the sunrise at the top of the peak will make the world stand still.

That's the one moment I want to experience and be mesmerised in awe and happiness.

So you’ve decided to spend your precious vacation time at raves and EDM festivals. You are undoubtedly in for a blast of epic proportions. Still, it’ll be helpful to employ a few strategies in advance of your trip in order to ensure that things go smoothly—i.e. sans epic meltdowns, lost friends, or bodily discomfort. Whether you’re heading to Electric Daisy Carnival in Tokyo or Electric Zoo in NYC, here’s how to prep for the ultimate EDM vacation so that you can enjoy it drama-free.

US Travel Tips with iCynosure

1. Read up on the venue in advance.
Once you’ve purchased tickets to a festival or rave, check out the venue’s website to learn if any items are prohibited from the grounds as well as what amenities will be on offer. (For example, some festivals have started going “cashless”—meaning festival goers can load money onto a wristband and leave the credit cards at home.) While you’re at it, print out the show lineup and a map of the festival grounds so you can plan your route in advance.

2. Pack layers.
EDM festivals involve lots of dancing and require being on your feet all day. Do your body a favour and pack layers that are comfortable, breathable, and appropriate for the weather. Even if the day starts out warm, it’s a good idea to bring along a hoodie or light jacket in case the night turns cool. If you have room in your backpack or fanny pack, it’s also a good idea to bring an extra pair of socks in case yours get wet or dirty during the show. Perhaps most importantly? Remember to wear comfortable footwear.

3. Eat and drink well.
Dancing for hours under the beating sun—it’s a blast, but it’s also tough on your body. Give your body the best chance at feeling okay by the end of the night by eating a nutritious meal before raves, packing healthy snacks, and staying hydrated while you dance the night away.

US Travel Tips with iCynosure

4. Bring the right toiletries.
While you simply won’t be able to maintain everyday hygiene at a show or festival, you can approximate cleanliness with a few key toiletries. Consider packing baby wipes for tackling grime on your neck, armpits, arms, and feet in addition to dry shampoo, sunblock (an absolute must for summer shows), and hand sanitizer for post-porta-potty cleanup.

If you’ll be camping at a festival, pay-per-use showers may be available—bring along flip-flops, a bathing suit, and cash if you want to take advantage of these facilities. Also be sure to bring your standard toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, deodorant, etc. And don’t forget to pack a basic first aid kit—stashing one of these in your pack can save many a headache (literally) in the event of minor cuts and bruises.

5. Accessorize smartly.
A few items tossed into a backpack or fanny pack can make a huge difference in your rave-going experience:
Once night falls, a headlamp is tremendously useful if you drop something on the grass or need to
review a festival map in the dark.
Sunglasses will help protect your eyes from summer rays or the flashing lights that are common
during nighttime raves.
Earplugs will help protect your hearing so you can enjoy EDM for years into the future.
Plastic trash bags can serve as a poncho, a seat, or protection for your belongings in the case of rain.
A waterproof phone case will help spare you from the devastation of ruining your phone.

6. Make sure your phone has juice.
Before heading to a rave, make sure your phone is fully charged so you can take pictures and stay in touch with your group in case you get separated. It’s a good idea to put your phone on airplane mode while you’re at the show in order to conserve its battery. If the venue offers a charging station, then bring along your charger. You could also opt to bring an extra battery.

US Travel Tips with iCynosure

7. Secure your belongings.
Although it’s impossible to guarantee with 100% certainty that your stuff won’t get lost or stolen at a rave, a little vigilance can go a long way. Some festivals offer rental lockers, which can be a great idea if you’re willing to pony up the cash. If you want to keep your belongings with you, you can help secure your things by hiding valuables in unappealing packaging (such as a cleaned-out sunscreen bottle), keeping your items on your body at all times (i.e. dancing while wearing your backpack, fanny pack, or Camelbak), and making a pact with your friends to help look out for each other’s stuff.

8. Coordinate with your group.
Communicating in advance of a rave can do a lot to keep everyone in your friend group safe and in the loop.
Before arriving:
Select a designated driver when applicable.
If you’re going to a festival where multiple artists will be performing, reach a consensus regarding
which shows you’ll all see together and when you might split up.
Write your friends’ numbers down on a piece of paper and keep it with you at all times (in case your
phone dies).
If you’re up for it, choose an identifier that can help you all spot each other in a large crowd—for
example, you could all wear matching T-shirts or bring along a flag or a balloon tied to a pole so that
people can find the group again when returning from food or bathroom runs.

Upon arriving at the venue:
Note where you all parked, where the bus station is, or where your taxi will pick you up (depending on your chosen mode of transportation). This is especially important for festivals that are held in remote areas where it’s easy to get lost.
Select a meet-up spot for the group so that if anyone gets separated, you all know where to find each
other at the end of the night.

A little advance planning, packing some key toiletries and accessories, and coordinating with your group both ahead of time and at the rave will help ensure that your EDM vacation goes off without a hitch.

As a woman I am particular about my overall health and wellbeing and that includes feminine hygiene as one of the important factors. I invest more time and effort in maintaining my feminine health than just the outer beauty. And after a lot of trials and errors, I've realised that one of the most important aspects of intimate hygiene is to identify what are the things that must be done and what must be avoided to maintain your delicate area health.

However, there are a few golden rules that must be followed no matter what age and phase of life you’re at to ensure the health of your delicate areas.

§ Eat a balanced diet and stay hydrated
§ Pick natural fabric innerwear
§ Wash regularly with the right hygiene product
§ Consult a gynaecologist and have regular check-ups
§ Avoid soaps and cleansers especially those with artificial colours and perfumes

These simple actions will help maintain the overall health of your intimate parts and prevent odours, itching and discomfort. This will also ensure that you do not suffer from bacterial infections and diseases. Though there are many brands that claim to provide the perfect product for feminine hygiene, I have had quite a few bad experiences and when I’ve finally found the one product that has exceeded all my expectations I'm sharing my experience with you.

I have used Medimix Ayurvedic products for a while especially as they are formulated with natural ingredients which perfectly work for my sensitive skin. So when they launched their Intimate Hygiene Wash infused with the best and most natural ingredients like lime, rosemary, neem, sage, aloe, thyme, vetiver and bisabolol, I knew this product would be a sure shot winner for me.

After each use, my skin has felt softer and more moisturised as the pH levels are being restored while moisturising the areas as well. What has also worked in my favour is that the product is free from soap extracts, Parabens, Sulphate, Nitrosamine and alcohol. The trace of Cholayil, the ideal chemical-free ayurvedic cleanser ensures a soothing and calming effect with a fresh and fragrant feel. Additionally, as the product is gynaecologically and dermatologically tested, it is perfect for all types of skin and can be used without worry.

I’ve happy to have found this amazing product and would definitely recommend that you try it too. So get your bottle of Medimix Ayurvedic Intimate Hygiene Wash to gift yourself the gentleness.

Pregnancy is by far the most beautiful phase in a woman’s life, however when I was expecting I has a lot of inhibitions about the way I looked and the way my body was growing. When I was expecting my beauty glow ensured a steady radiance and an intense shine, that was unmissable; however I did shy away from flaunting my baby bump and expressing myself through my growing body.

But more recently when I saw some #YummyMummy proudly flaunt their growing bodies I was mesmerised. During the Lakme Fashion Week, Carol Gracias looked as gorgeous as ever with her baby bump and it was a great step in breaking fashion week stereo-types and carving a path for all women alike. More recently the social media pages of TV actor Shveta Salve is buzzing with heart-warming pictures of her pregnancy journey.

Bio-Oil a specialist skincare oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone; its advanced formulation, which contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil, also makes it highly effective for numerous other skin concerns, including ageing skin and dehydrated skin.

The brand took a stunning step to celebrate motherhood bodies by organising a #YummiliciousWalk with these two oh-so pregnant beauties and 12 mums-to-be who won an online contest to walk the ramp on the eve of Mothers Day. The walk conceptualised with a thought to help expecting mums shed their inhibitions and flaunt their gorgeous bodies, cherishing these beautiful memories marked a transformation of sorts. A many of firsts for Carol, who conceptualised and choreographed the show. The gorgeous ladies were dressed in outfits by Innaya by Shivangi Lahoty and accessories with traditional baby shower floral jewellery. The beauty of the soft pastels and intricate embroidery added an unmatched charm to the entire styling. The maxi skirts stole my heart and I cannot wait to flaunt one one.

Not only were the #YummyMummy (ies) given a platform to glow but also the event had celebrity gynaecologist Dr. Kiran Coelho and dermatologist Dr. Rashmi Shetty answering their queries about pregnancy and post-pregnancy concerns.

It was great to see the gorgeous ladies take the ramp with all the confidence and dazzle the audience with their camaraderie and confidence. Seeing each of them cheering the others was remarkable when crowned the titles of Cutest Baby Bump, Gorgeous Glow and Yummy Mummy.

Lets not forget the 'men of the moment' too and applaud the dads-to-be too, after all they have a huge contribution to the said status. :) Surprisingly the men blushed more then the women!

Bharti Gohel with Kalpesh Gohel, the couple took home the 'Cutest Baby Bump' title
Ruby Jain Shah with Kaushal Shah, the couple took home the 'Gorgeous Glow' title
Parul Sardesai with Saurabh Lokhande, the couple took home the #YummyMummy title

All in all it was a fun event and I personally think Bio Oil should make this an annual event that encourages mums-to-be to celebrate and enjoy their pregnancy phase rather than shying away from the world.
