Quikr Launched Chat Application

Bought something you liked but cannot use it anymore? Have something lying in the house that needs to get disposed but the raddiwalla isn't giving you what it’s worth. Want that discontinued product but cannot find it anywhere. Need that product but first would like to try the used version to be sure.

Does any of these sound familiar?

With everything online, it was high time that the medium was exploited for non-professional, household buying and selling opportunities. So some genius thought about it and now we have amazing websites like Quikr.com which act as a link between buyers and sellers to buy or sell products. These days, Quikr is getting more and more a convenient option for buyers and sellers to make simple, smart and safe transactions.

With such facilities come the age-old drama and anxiety of sharing information with numerous strangers, discussing with them about the products and negotiating the prices. Sometimes we are comfortable and sometimes we are not. At times you cannot immediately reply to prospective buyers or sellers or send over the required information; thus losing the opportunity.

Thus to further enhance the experience and making it a little more streamlined and stress-free, the folks at Quikr have gone one step ahead to develop Quikr NXT. A Chat application over a Phone Call that allows users to chat with each other; ensuring privacy, convenience and understanding.

Privacy:
Whichever side you are on, you may need to interact with multiple individuals to facilitate a transaction. If you are selling, you have to interact with multiple buyers and if you are buying you have to interact with multiple sellers. Would you really be comfortable with sharing your phone number or your email address to exchange necessary information. Yes I thought so, No! Hence the Quikr NXT app is most apt to keep your privacy while interacting with numerous individuals.

Convenience:
Receive calls or making calls every few minutes to get or give more information on the product? Yes that’s the case when you are trying to transact for a previously owned product. So instead of running around every minute of the day, Quikr NXT allows you to interact at your convenience. Whether sharing information or images about the product or pictures or even negotiating, do it when you have the time and your full attention. Also your conversations will be saved so the information is there for you to see whenever you need to.

Understanding:
Not sure how the product looks from the other end, how much is the person charging? Especially if you are buying, you do interact with numerous sellers and then you are all confused about which product is from whom for how much etc etc. Also if you are selling, you may not remember how much you negotiated with a particular buyer. And thus in all the confusion, there could be misunderstandings and finally a no-transaction. So the Quikr NXT is a blessing as it will allow a foolproof platform in knowing exactly what you are getting out of the transaction.

So worry not, No Fikar, Chat Quikr.

Garnier Pure Active Neem Face Wash Review

Turning a a year older is not easy.

It’s a dreaded landmark, especially if you've lived most of your life with bad skin. Maybe it’s nature’s way to say that the good days lie ahead but you truly would not believe it if you've lived your teens and part of your 20’s with a healthy mix of breakouts, spots and acne.

All through my teens I was in pain, from the terrible thought of being ugly just because pimples never left me. All my friends always tried to cheer me up with the “You've got a new boyfriend” tease. But it never made me feel better. I always wound up feeling conscious and unattractive.

Not that I didn't try anything. Whenever I tried something new I was left disappointed. No sooner one pimple would seem to subside to a disgusting rash; another one would pop up immediately. My face was a visible proof of not only skin deterioration but also of my weakening confidence.

Pimples don’t only affect the skin, they affect a life. People may say, ‘It’s just a pimple, no great deal’ but only those who have suffered through this, actually realize that these tiny monsters takes away from a personal socially, physically as well as emotionally. As life progressed in the company of pimples, my anxiety gave rise to depression that finally led me to withdrawal from everything. I stayed put in my room, didn't venture out unless necessary and made makeshift walls all around me.

As typical of people they offered expert suggestions to treat my condition. And trust me I did try everything, almost up to changing my lifestyle but nothing helped. I was ready to settle with the fact that this was an incurable and permanent condition when a friend’s mother suggested I try Neem Neutralising. I debated and then gave myself another chance. ‘What’s the harm in trying’ I asked myself. And I guess it was the best debate I lost with myself.

I used Neem Leaves into my daily routine in more ways than one….

Helps clear Acne and reduces Breakouts
Boil neem leaves in a cup of water and use it to regularly to wipe your face with to help reduce breakouts and clear the acne marks. This magical water works as a toner to leave you skin supple and clear when used regularly.

Lighten Blemishes
Grind in a little bit of sandalwood, tulsi leaves and neem leaves to make a face pack. Apply the paste evenly on your face, let it dry for about 15 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water.

Moisturises Skin
Add neem juice to drop of olive or almond oil and a water to apply all you’re your face and neck. This works as a moisturiser as well as a primer thereby reducing pigmentation. This trick also helps to get rid of dark circles.

Garnier Pure Active Neem Face Wash Review

Over a period I actively took interest in treating my skin with these amazing tricks and I could see a change. A Happy Change! And after all these years of a systematically set Neem routine, I chanced upon the skincare range by Garnier Skin Naturals and instantly fell in love with Pure Active Neem Face Wash.

And I tried the face wash… The Pure Active Neem face wash is truly a gem with extracts of neem leaf and tea tree oil extracts. It prevents pimples and breakouts along with removing black and white heads. It works excellently on combination skin type; reducing irritation and oiliness. Surprisingly a little quantity lathers enough to clean the face thoroughly; exfoliating and neutralising the overall skin tone. It does hydrate the skin simultaneously while cleansing it but sometimes it does feel a bit dry and stretchy. With the price and travel friendly packaging, the product is a winner.

Garnier Pure Active Neem Face Wash Review

Product Strengths:
§ Infused with Neem Leaf and Tea Tree Oil extracts
§ Does what it promises; cleans pores, clears pimples and prevents breakouts
§ Removes oil and reduces redness

Product Weaknesses:
§ Leaves skin slightly dry

All in all my confidence has been restored and I love looking at myself in the mirror. The girl in there even when bare-faced feels beautiful.

Have you tried any neem products?

Give Yourself A Second Chance With Max Insurance

Second Chance. The truth about a second chance is that it is never given nor is it offered, and it definitely is not anything to do with luck. A Second Chance is to be taken by sheer determination, by recognising the need to experience it and taking that step to cover the missed opportunity.

Just as I read about #SecondChance, there were a zillion things that came to my mind that I wanted to do, but haven’t done because of X, Y, Z reasons. Phew just when I gave up hope that I could do those again, I read a quote by Maria Robinson -

Nobody can go back and make a new beginning,
but everyone can start today and make a new ending.

Isn't it wonderful to learn something new, something unique
Years ago I was so inclined to learn the piano, but as soon as I started my classes I was left twiddling my thumbs. Every day I tried a bit more, put in a little more effort but it turned out all wrong. I judged myself too soon, announced that I was terrible and gave it up in less than a fortnight. That is one decision that has haunted me for a long time. Finally, I decided to ditch the ‘I-CANT’ and embrace the ‘How Can I’, giving myself a Second Chance.

Wouldn't it be inspiring to be able to help another achieve something
Teaching should have come easily to me, just by looking at my mother; a teacher par excellence. I was at a stage during my educational journey when I could have got certified to become a teacher. But ego came in way of logic and instead of following my passion to teach, I choose an alternate path just due to peer-pressure. But it’s never too late, and I’m giving myself a Second Chance to become a teacher, a small yet significant start.

Weren't those care-free days amazing when you could fly high like a bird
A new place, a new environment, a new challenge to be a better person. I had an opportunity during my post-graduation to live alone and become more responsible whilst getting my degree, I gave up the chance. Why? Because I didn't want to fend for myself alone, wanted to be with friends all the time, go clubbing, dancing and shopping, be given everything ready on a platter, didn't want to venture out of my comfort zone. Wonder when I shall now have that Second Chance to get out of town, into a completely new place, establish myself and become a local.

When? Well isn't every day a second chance. Stand up and dust yourself, walk away from all the success and get ready to conquer new battles. Because

Missed Chances are not fatal and Second Chances are not final.

Do you agree?

2015 has arrived with a bang. In the very first month, I've collaborated with two amazing beauty brands and three gorgeous fashion brands to bring to you the best that the industry can offer. First things first! If you follow me on Instagram and/or Twitter, you sure know all about it. But if not, don’t worry you shall, but all in good time.

The L'Oréal Launches the Cannes Collection At The Red Party #GoRouge

A very exciting project was initiated by L'Oréal Paris India, where the brand invited beauty bloggers from Mumbai to collaborate for their L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Pure Reds Collection. Every blogger was styled by Hair and Makeup Expert, Namrata Soni before shinning in the limelight to be beautifully clicked by photographer par excellence, Rema Chaudhary. The amazingly eventful day organized by PR gurus at FoxyMoron was infused with manicures and nail art sessions while sipping cocktails and munching on pizzas at LIV, the club.

Having met Namrata at various L'Oréal workshops, being styled by her was an amazing experience. She and her team spent considerable time with each of us to understand our individual uniqueness and then style us accordingly. Every blogger was flaunting a shade from the Pure Red range of matte lipsticks that flattered her persona, her skin-tone and her individuality.

Here is a checklist of the different shades, and which beauty endorses it!

The L'Oréal Launches the Cannes Collection At The Red Party #GoRouge
Shades Available: Gong Li-Pure Amaranthe, Fan Binbing-Pure Vermeil, Sonam Kapoor-Pure Garnet,
Aishwarya Rai-Pure Brick, Freida Pinto-Pure Rouge, Blake Lively-Pure Scarleto, Li Bing Bing-Pure Fire

It was a whirlwind session, where Namrata’s assistant first did my base makeup and then Namrata did my hair. As I looked at myself, I was all set to flaunt the reds endorsed by any of the Indian beauties and was amazed when Namrata picked out the Pure Scarleto endorsed by the beautiful Blake Lively. I was stumped, thinking I’d look so unnatural, but I had faith in Namrata and we went ahead with the lip colour.

The end result is here for you to see… I was a new person, born to stand out. A colour so unique that I just couldn't recognise myself!

The L'Oréal Launches the Cannes Collection At The Red Party #GoRouge

Once I was ready I was rushed to the photo-session and after a few awkward poses, I kind of got into the rhythm. After a few takes I was at ease and the pictures got done in a few minutes. A wonderful afternoon came to an end when all the bloggers were brought together for a group photo… It was fun, chaotic madness… Moving bloggers around numerous times, taking a zillion shots where either someone was yawning, or someone was napping or someone wasn't looking at the camera.

And here are the pics that the talented Rema took. After a crazy hectic day, these pictures make all the efforts worthwhile.

We have met on numerous occasions for events, parties and shopping but the L'Oréal Paris India #RedParty gave us the time to bond like girls; giggling, laughing, gossiping and flaunting. It was an evening that all of us would cherish forever.

Don’t the pictures say it all?

Most girls want to go short for their prom nights as these dresses are extremely popular due to the fact that they are casually reusable for events and parties. However the new trend that’s catching up is those of Ball Gown Prom Dresses and Long Prom Dresses.

Lengthy Prom Dresses are classier and elegant, thus finding a favor not only with parents but also with elders and friends. The problem of revealing too much on a really important evening brings in a lot of unwanted attention. As compared to Short Prom Dresses, the Long Prom Dresses are usually looked at with aura and glamour.

However not all Long Prom Gowns are boring. Long Prom Dress is the undisputed queen outfit that is not only commanding attention but also is sensual and telling. Take your pick from a Princess Cut, Mermaid, Single Shoulder, Off-Shoulder, Halter Neck, High Slit, Strapless, Baby Doll, etc. to highlight your best feature.

As soon as you agree on the style, do an intense search on Dresseshop and you will definitely see your dream prom dress there. Some of the ones that I’m completely in love with are all there not only in varied cuts, but also colours, textures and fits.

Shop For Long Prom Dress From DressEshop
Strapless Long Prom Dress
A princess cut strapless dress is an unofficially perfect yet a conventional dress that not only hides but also shows the beautiful you. One must understand that an attractive and stylish dress need not make you look bare and naked and that’s exactly what a strapless dress ensures. The style tip for a Strapless Dress is to opt for an embellished bustier.

One Shoulder Long Prom Dress
No one will overlook a beautiful single shoulder long dress. A single strap artistically placed can take you from ordinary to spectacular within seconds. Simple noodle strap or a cross shoulder strap or a simple bodice strap defines personality and youthful flamboyance. The style tip for a Single Shoulder Dress is to opt for an A-Line dress.

Mermaid Long Prom Dress
There is definitely nothing fishy about this one. A mermaid dress will make you feel exotic and unique. The style tip for this one is to make sure either there is something going on, on the top half of the dress or the bottom half. Do not try to get a dress that has definition all over as it will look tacky and loud.

Shop For Long Prom Dress From DressEshop
Corset Long Prom Dress
Feel like Cindrella? Pick a gorgeous corset dress either in a strapless number or a single strap. The back will make your feel gorgeous and make you look sexy and super stylish. However, make sure that the strings are merely an object of definition and not really holding your dress together, as you want to dance the night away without fear of loosening. The style tip for a Corset Dress is a ‘no-accessories’ look.

Shop For Long Prom Dress From DressEshop
High Slit Long Prom Dress
Can pull off an Angelina Jolie look? Then this one is just for you. Let the world see those fabulous legs in a beautiful high slit long dress. The style tip for this one is to ensure that the dress is as simple as possible and keep the accessories to a minimum so that your leg can do all the talking.

Shop For Long Prom Dress From DressEshop
Halter Neck Long Prom Dress
Willing to bare your back? Then try a halter neck long prom dress. Not only does it define your body shape but also distinguishes between the top and lower body very effectively. The style tip for a Halter Neck Dress is to go for a dual look that clearly separates the parts with either different colours or patterns.

So prom or not, are you a long dress person?

I love gadgets… because it makes my life easier.

Asus EeeBook X205TA Review
With everything online, a decent gadget that checks all the necessary tick-boxes is a blessing in disguise. From connecting with friends to shopping online, from working on projects to boring research online, from watching movies to listening to music, from updating the social platforms to doing all the crazy stuff… all this and much more.

So the gadget that was perfect yesterday will soon be outdated today, in need of the great upgrade.

Why not find the one which takes you from day to night and today to tomorrow just as it is? Just as my needs keep increasing daily, the good folks at Asus are always one step ahead to cater to my needs. One day I was eyeing the 2-in-1 Ultraportable Transformer Book T100 when they offered yet another couple of winner machines.

The Sleek and Powerful Asus EeeBook X205TA and the Super Powerful, ultra-portable and connected Asus All In One PC ET2040. One look and you are sure to fall in love. It will be difficult for anyone to choose between the two.

The ASUS EeeBook X205TA is a premium notebook that weighs less than 1kg and is unbelievably light and compact. Designed to give a curvaceous and extremely thin tactile finish as a fanless notebook, it ensures there is no compromise on quality and performance. Additionally, a larger touchpad and a full sized keyboard add accuracy to the outstanding performance. The X205 is fitted with a dual battery ensuring upto 12 hours of battery life so as never to put you on the back foot, especially when you’re travelling. And what more it is equipped with a power adapter that is super compact and can be easily carried around.

The ASUS All In One PC ET2040 is a 19.5-inch ultra-portable desktop with built-in backup power, innovative hands-free gesture control and full I/O connectivity. Perfect for small spaces due to it’s slim and space-saving design, bright backlit screen and an adjustable metal stand that not only angles well but also folds away for easy carrying. Backed by the Intel Pentium Quad Core J2900 Processor, all tasks including photo editing, video editing or gaming and watching becomes so much smoother and seamless. An added is the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports that enable you to recharge your smartphones, tablets or other USB devices up to 50% faster and transfer data between devices up to 10 times faster. It is the perfect example of Innovation, Design and Reliability that allows you to experience a wide range of pre-installed apps for work or play.

Both these winners have a range of features that I look for in my gadget apart from a zillion other must-haves. A portable desktop versus a super slim compact travel-friendly notebook; the choice is tough. But not for me!

I’ve made up my mind, I want the ASUS All In One PC ET2040 for the girl at home and the ASUS EeeBook X205TA for the girl on the go…. I want them both.

And you?

T-shirts T-shirts are back in business in a big way.

Graphic and Statement tees these days are not merely meant as a style statement but also the statement is a reflection of the wearer’s attitude. There is a huge option in the category from rebellious ones, to cutie romantic tees to out-right offensive one-liner graphic tees. What you choose to flaunt completely depends upon your mood for the day along with where you’re headed to.

Get a mix variation in your wardrobe. Classic black tees with boldly printed fashion proverbs or super cool statements are the season’s must-haves. Get an odd colour with a statement that you can flaunt anytime and every time, whatever mood you are in to lift up your spirits. Team these simple designs with classic jeans or team them with a flowy skirt or layer them with spring maxis.

Graphic or not, announce your affiliation to the world.

Go cheeky with an 'I Don’t Date Muggles' tee from the Harry Potter series or set your rules with Dexter’s 'Follow The Code' tee. Proclaim your love for everything sweet and cute with a ‘Hello Kitty’ or the ‘Buntee’ tees. However for me tees are no longer just a layering option, but a simple means to casual and dressy combined together. Most SS14 collections that I've been drawn towards have been classy tees that connect me to my favorite movies.

I picked some very neat pieces from GreenRockStore before heading to my winter vacation and they arrived in a couple of days. I loved the fact that the material was super soft, the colours were fast and most importantly the pieces were ‘Made In India’ in tune with our PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Make In India’ campaign to promote Indian manufacturing.

Here is what I got…. Stay tuned for the look posts coming up next week.

Add Graphic And Statement Tees To Your Wardrobe

Since graphic and statement tees are more about attitude, they be they can become great conversation starters between like-minded people and maybe forge great friendships.

So take a pick from GreenRockStore’s amazing collection of t-shirts, hoodies, laptop skins, mugs and posters. And if you have something very specific in mind email them and they shall customize it for you.

Happy Teeing!

Play Close Up Cupid Games This Valentine

Propose!

That’s one word that send shivers done the spine, that’s one word that leaves the mount high and dry, that’s one word that causes anxiety. But it is one thing that most people are familiar with… either you propose or you are proposed to. On which side are you completely depends upon who you are with.

Traditionally proposing is the man’s department and being proposed to is the woman’s. However with all talk of feminism and equality in the 21st century, women are as vocal about their feelings as the men. No way am I referring that women should not take a lead and express their feelings, I am merely saying that the luxury of being proposed to has somewhere lost in the entire modernization.

However as a woman myself, I would definitely ensure that the object of my affection reciprocates my feelings before going all out to proclaim my love for him, cause it would be extremely embarrassing to be turned down and more heart wrenching to nurse a broken heart. But again some may argue that it is always good to confess and be turned down than being silent and realizing it is too late.

Since proposing to a man isn’t something that has been discussed freely, there is a basic low-down I will keep in mind while making the super romantic moment worth my while. So many ideas have filled my mind and I’m busy picking each of them for their pros and cons to arrive at one.

~ A simple “Grow old along with me!” straight out of Robert Browning’s poem Rabbi Ben Ezra.
~ Or maybe get his personal favorite things and gift leave the hamper at his doorstep at night.
~ Or take a picnic at the park and play games to confess your love keeping score with alphabets.
~ Or write a heartfelt love letter that is a unique proposition in the age of emails and SMSes.
~ Or maybe a lovely "Will you marry me?" during a dinner date.

Phew all these seems so normal, done a zillion times and nothing like what I am. So I thought what I am? I am fun, I am crazy, I am a mystery. And I though Bingo.

So what I plan to do is create a Cupid Game this valentine, a jigsaw puzzle – a mystery maze.

Leaving clues all around the house, which are parts of a jigsaw puzzle that needs to be put together. When he finds all the clues, the picture will reveal an amazing photograph of ours with the central piece missing. As he will try to look for the missing piece, I shall get a piece from my treasure chest and put it in place revealing the magical words, “Marry Me Please, Be Mine Always, I Love You To The Moon And Back”.

What do you think? Does it work?

Why is it always questioned what primary role does the woman play? Why do you need a label to introduce a woman?

Because we have let the world play 'gender generalizations' with us. Assumptions based on gender, following a pattern are the main guilty parties here. While most generalisation and labels are untrue as each individual is different with varied emotions, interests and thoughts.

Even then the gender generalisation begin the minute the baby is born and the gender is found. No sooner do you know it's a girl, you start picking out pink clothes or beautiful dolls or even decorate the nursery with butterflies and lillies. Why such a stereotype? Why not pick a great pair of blue pants or decorate the nursery with bats and toy trucks?

If you keep yourself well-groomed and flaunt gorgeous dresses, if you want to get married and have babies, if you like to sew and knit, if you know to cook and clean, if you look after the house; then you are the "perfect woman". If you are non of these things, but are other things does it make you any less a woman?

Say these aloud and let me know what you feel...

Women need not go to work.
Women must learn to cook.
Women don't play sport.
Women make terrible drivers.
Women are not as strong as men.
Women should look after the home.
Women are born to raise babies.
Women are not good at math.
Women watch dramatic television.
Women are good at craft.
Women cannot do physically strenuous jobs.

Phew, what crap.

At how many of those were you shaking your head in denial. Quite a few isnt it?

I wont say these are false labels, these are true. But not true to all women, and hence are restricting for a woman and does not define us. I invited a few friends and acquaintances and told them to #UseYourAnd and show the world different facets of their personality. They've come forward to break the shackles with Gillette. What about you?

Break The Shackles, #UseYourAnd
Break The Shackles, #UseYourAnd

And you? What are the facets of that remarkable woman? Share with us and we shall feature you with these amazing girls and ladies.
